Two former platoon mates of accused deserter Bowe Bergdahl announced Monday that they fully support presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
And they still consider Bergdahl, who is awaiting trial for desertion for having walked off his outpost in Afghanistan and falling into Taliban hands, to be a deserter.
Bergdahl’s former platoon leader Sgt. Evan Buetow and roommate Specialist Cody Full appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity to explain their presidential picks.
“The reason I’m voting for Donald Trump is because Hillary Clinton came out and told the mothers and widows of the Benghazi victims that their sons were killed over a video,” Full told host Sean Hannity at about the 3:33 mark. “Well, when those same mothers and widows came out and said that’s what Hillary told them, she proceeded to call them a liar. If a person is willing to call a Gold Star mother or widow a liar, there is no lie she will not tell the American public.”
He added that a Clinton administration would result in “the same kind of bad deals, as opposed to the Trump Administration, who I think values veterans and the VA more than Hillary would.”
