After Donald Trump made a remark about criminalizing abortion, Fox News’ Andrea Tantaros said the GOP front-runner walked right into Hillary Clinton’s gender war trap.
Tantaros, a defender of Trump, made the claim after Trump said on MSNBC that women should receive “some form of punishment” if abortion were to become illegal but they got the procedure done anyway.
Following the statement, Trump doubled back entirely and now says the question was purposefully complicated in order to trip him up on the issue. He corrected his earlier comment by stating it’s the doctors, not women, who should be punished.
Tantaros saw the mixup as Trump giving Clinton what she wants, saying, “He walked into exactly what Hillary Clinton wanted him to walk into, which is a trap.”
“It’s going to be a gender war by the Left,” said Tantaros. “Women versus that plurality of white, male voters that support Donald Trump.”
