After a campaign appearance at the Purchase campus of the State University of New York Thursday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared to lose her composure with a supporter of rival Sen. Bernie Sanders.
She got right into the face of Greenpeace activist Eva Resnick-Day who had asked the Democratic presidential front-runner if she’d refuse to accept donations from fossil fuel companies such as ExxonMobil.
“I do not, I have money from people who work for fossil fuel companies,” she told the activist. “I am so sick, I am so sick of the Sanders campaign lying about that, I’m sick of it!”
Although it’s accurate that Clinton hasn’t accepted any donations directly from fossil fuel companies, according to FactCheck.org, her campaign nonetheless took in $160,000 from the employees of oil and gas companies the Center for Responsive Politics found.
In addition to the rigors of engaging in a national campaign, Clinton is facing an ongoing FBI criminal investigation into her use of a private email server to conduct official business as secretary of state, and officials Thursday announced her hour of judgement is nearing.
