Many conservatives believe Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump reacted in a strange way to Scott Walker’s endorsement of Sen. Ted Cruz for president.

He criticized the governor for not raising taxes in Wisconsin.

Actually, had Trump done just a little research, he would have found that not only did Walker not raise taxes — he actually lowered them.

Walker tweeted Tuesday morning:

After Walker’s endorsement, Trump chose a radio interview with talk-show host Michael Koolidge on 1440 WROK to strike back.

“There’s a $2.2 billion deficit and the schools were going begging and everything was going begging because he didn’t want to raise taxes ’cause he was going to run for president,” Trump said at about the 13:25 mark. “So instead of raising taxes, he cut back on schools, he cut back on highways, he cut back on a lot of things.”

But Walker wasn’t about to let that slide.

For a time, Walker was a leading contender for the GOP presidential nomination; but in September, he became the first to suspend his campaign and urged others to withdraw in an effort to concentrate on defeating Trump.

Given that, Trump couldn’t resist a personal shot at the governor.

“We sent him packing like a little boy,” he said.

Trump later visited Fox News’ Sean Hannity where he reiterated his point that Wisconsin is “doing poorly.”

“I see this governor get on his motorcycle all the time, he’s a big tough guy,” he added. “I see him with his motorcycle jacket, you know, like he’s a tough guy, riding on the highways…”

“He endorsed a guy who has no chance of beating Hillary Clinton. I haven’t even focused on Hillary Clinton.”

“He couldn’t endorse me because I knocked him out of the presidential race,” Trump said.

The Wisconsin primary is scheduled for Tuesday, April 5.
