A wrong number gave rise to a beautiful moment caught in a photograph, a viral Facebook post, as well as a possible burgeoning friendship.

When Mark and Lindsey Lashley were about to become parents, Mark’s mother, Teresa Lashley, played the role of town crier by text-messaging friends and family of the delivery’s progress.

One person she texted was a complete stranger, however. Dennis Williams accidentally got thrown into the loop.

“We are at the hospital. Having a baby today! She has dilated to between 5-6,” read the first text.

Williams and his brother Deorick responded by politely texting the grandmother-to-be that she’d sent the message to the wrong recipient.

“Congrats lol but I think someone got the wrong number,” they wrote.

But she apparently never read the brothers’ text, as she sent a second one, along with a photo of her and her new grandchild, which was captioned, “7 lbs. 11 oz.”

That’s when they decided to take the relationship up a notch.

“Well I don’t know Yall but me and the boys will be thru to take picture with the baby,” Dennis said.

That’s when she realized her mistake and apologized for getting them involved. But “the boys” would have none of it.

“Nah that’s ok what’s the room number Bainbridge hospital right we have gifts,” their reply said.

TEXT-3

When the brothers showed up bearing gifts, a photo of Mom, Dad, child and “the boys” was taken for posterity and posted on Deorick Williams’ Facebook page. It’s been shared more than 24,000 times.

The new grandmother posted her own account of the mixup to her own Facebook page, which the brothers added to their own:

I accidentally [texted] a message about Mark and Lindsey having a baby to a number I had in my phone for someone else which now belongs to Mr. Dennis Williams and he and his brother came by to visit us and brought the baby a gift! What a blessing these two guys were to our family. They were so sweet and kind to do this! You 2 are great guy sand thank you for giving to someone you didn’t know! Many blessing I pray for you. I think his brother was Derrius Williams. Cason Knox, Lindsey, & Mark Lashley thanks you. Please share this with anyone you know and hopefully these guys will see. If we all only had this kind of heart.

With respect to little Cason Knox, good things do indeed come in small packagers; with respect to the Williams brothers, good things also come when least expected.
