FBI, DOJ are ‘super pissed off’ that White House weighed in on Clinton email scandal, reports say

Fox News sources at the FBI and the Department of Justice are “super pissed off” that the White House is not only weighing in on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, but that it is even minimizing it.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters on Friday that based on what he knows, it looks like she’ll get away with the scandal.

Earnest made that statement after the White House confirmed that it couldn’t release 22 of Clinton’s emails even in redacted form because they were so highly sensitive.

Earnest’s statement “has got the back up of our contacts at the FBI and the Justice Department,” Fox News chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge told “On The Record” host Greta Van Susteren at about the 2:10 mark.

“They are super pissed off, to use a technical term, Herridge continued.

“Because number one, they say Josh Earnest has absolutely no clearance or visibility into the FBI investigation. Number two, they say it really seems part of a troubling pattern from the White House because the president earlier said he did not see any national security implications to the Clinton emails and then we found out he had never been briefed. And the whole idea is to not to make this even more political than absolutely necessary, but the White House is weighing in and certainly leaving the public with the impression that it’s not backed up by the evidence in the case.”
