Liberals in America are losing their collective minds over the realization that Republican presidential contender Marco Rubio — egad! — bought a gun on Christmas eve.
Rubio was even asked about his commonplace purchase — the country is seeing record gun ownership under the Obama administration — on Sunday during an appearance on “Face the Nation.”
Rubio explains why he purchased a fire arm recently. Explains that it is the last defense between his family & ISIS https://t.co/2AkdTHZ5yh

“I’m a strong supporter of the second amendment. I have a right to protect my family if someone were to come after us,” Rubio told CBS host John Dickerson. “In fact, if ISIS were to visit us, or our communities, at any moment, the last line of defense between ISIS and my family is the ability that I have to protect my family from them, or from a criminal, or anyone else who seeks to do us harm. Millions of Americans feel that way.”
Just ask any resident of San Bernardino, California.
As one social media user pointed out, Rubio has the right to buy a gun. ‘End of story.’
@FaceTheNation @CBSNLive Rubio bought a gun B.C. its his right under the 2nd amendment and to defend his family. End of story

Nevertheless, Rubio exercising that right set off the left, who feels that purchasing a firearm for personal protection is somehow a problem.
Here’s a sampling of the left’s response from Twitter (with a few commonsense reactions sprinkled in):
14 americans were slaughtered by ISIS sympathizers, but it’s dumb to buy a gun, right? https://t.co/vO5yjVN9qe

@mattsteinglass What exactly is insane about wanting to protect one’s family? Or are you saying it’s insane to believe you have that right?

@NICKinNOVA @FaceTheNation @AlexConant Or, San Bernardino. Smart take.

@TPM So sorry, @marcorubio, but ISIS really wouldn’t waste their time attacking candidates polling below 15%
— Kindler (@progressive_va) January 17, 2016
@TPM @RWwatchMA also he’d protect his family more if he didn’t buy the gun. At all.

@JuddLegum @thinkprogress No, he didn’t actually say that. Why make stuff upto attack him? Does he really scare you that much?
— White Goodman (@LtColRick) January 18, 2016
@JuddLegum you strike me as the type of man who would hide behind a man like Rubio when shit would hit the fan..
