The administration is blaming its lack of strategy in dealing with Islamic State militants on … Republicans in Congress?
According to the White House, it’s never President Obama’s fault. Here’s the latest example from White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, where he says Republicans aren’t doing enough to fight ‘ISIL.’
Republicans in Congress have failed to do anything to combat ISIL. Here's how they could start. https://t.co/PZMy0FeSMe

Let the snark begin.
@donnytombrady @PressSec seems to be Obama has been directing the non-war against ISIS, why are you blaming Congress?

@mr_markjacobs @scarlett2112 @PressSec @WhiteHouse no guess..he has demonstrated exactly that over and over plus disrespects the troops

@PressSec Are you high right now?? WTF? You are blaming @GOP for PRESIDENT'S inaction against #ISIS? New low Josh. Pathetic!
— Kristine ❀♡❀♡ (@KristineAz) January 7, 2016
@PressSec yeah, but who's the commander in chief?
— Joshua Meier (@PersistPastor) January 7, 2016
@PressSec POTUS: Iraq-fail; Russia-fail; Libya-fail; Egypt- supports mbhood-fail; Afghanistan- lost gained territiry-fail; China-fail, etc.
— JEmerson (@JohnLangstaff1) January 8, 2016
@PressSec How about we stop leaving power vacuums in decrepit countries? How about we stop leaving zillions of weapons and vehicles too?
— David Bixler (@asoldier) January 7, 2016
@PressSec Are McConnell and Ryan now Co-Commanders in Chief? You are a real ignorant ass aren't you?
— Greg Jones (@gjones60) January 7, 2016
One wondered if Earnest expected members of Congress to take up arms against the Islamic State.
@PressSec I don't know when you last looked at congress, but most don't seem very combat ready. IMHO
— Stephen Juliano (@StephenCJuliano) January 7, 2016
And then there was this:
@PressSec From the looks of these tweets, looks like Americans are over this POTUS. Next "non-Dem" POTUS Please. (The Nation has spoken).
— Mike (@JustSayn2000) January 7, 2016
It sounds as though people are finally starting to get it.
At various times, the administration has blamed former President George W. Bush for the rise of the Islamic State and the Pentagon for a lack of strategy for dealing with the terrorists.
But congressional Republicans? That’s a new one — and a new low.
