Milk is a ‘symbol of racism’ in Trump’s America, say California college students

The left has finally gone over the edge in their search for racism in every aspect of life.

As it turns out, drinking a glass of milk now means you’re a white supremacist.

Samantha Diaz, a student writer for California State University, Long Beach’s Daily 49er newspaper, is just the latest liberal to attribute American’s love of dairy to deep-seated racism.

“When you think of milk, what first comes to your mind?” Diaz writes. “If you’re a millennial, you probably think of strong bones, Got Milk? commercials, or maybe eating your favorite cereal while watching cartoons on a Saturday morning.

“What about racism? White nationalism? If you’re having trouble finding the connection between these institutions and milk, you’re not alone. You, along with the rest of the nation, have been so accustomed to hearing the benefits of milk that you probably didn’t even realize the subtle racism hidden in our health facts.”

 

Well, that escalated quickly.

Diaz continues:

“It may not surprise you that the United States was founded on racism. That every institution we uphold has racist roots that are sometimes difficult to catch and even harder to fight against. This phenomenon affects our voter ID laws, state testing and,  yes, even our federal dietary guidelines. But how can our health guidelines, a system meant to be built upon scientific fact alone, have racist messages? Where there is a deep-rooted tradition to suppress an entire race’s existence, there’s a way.”

The article then makes the case that while milk is good for whites, it supposedly can have detrimental health effects on non-whites.

Unfortunately, Diaz is far from the first left-winger to suggest a relationship between milk and racial oppression. A Mother Jones article from last year asked “Are the US Dietary Guidelines on Milk Racist?”

And a Mic piece asserts milk is the “new, creamy symbol of white racial purity in Donald Trump’s America” because whites come from regions of the world notable for tolerance to lactose.

Even the movie industry is hopping aboard the sudden distaste for milk. The horror film Get Out, released in February, tells the story of a secret society of rich whites who kidnap blacks in order to use their bodies for brain transplants.

In one scene, one of the villains is seen eating dry cereal accompanied by a glass of milk. The scene focuses on her unusual drinking of the milk in what it supposed to be a symbol of racism.

It may seem strange that liberals have vilified something as inoffensive as milk.

But it makes sense when you consider how the left works. They remain in power by turning select groups into victims who need protection from systemic bigotry.

If the bigotry doesn’t actual exist, liberals have to create it somewhere–even in your bowl of cereal.
