Swalwell doles out BIG BUCKS weeks after resignation, Fox probe finds

If attorney fees are any indication of guilt, disgraced Dem Rep. Eric Swalwell could be headed for disaster.

Swalwell used congressional and gubernatorial campaign coffers to pay one of his attorneys over $360,000 weeks after he dropped out of California’s gubernatorial race and resigned from Congress, a study from Fox News Digital discovered.

A $50,000 payment was made to celebrity lawyer Sara Azari at the time, sparking questions on whether the payments were purely for defense or part of an attempt to repair his public image.

Three more payments from Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign were made to Azari the following month, including a $250,000 sum for “campaign legal compliance,” Fox News Digital found.

“The fact that, you know, a day later, years later, or whatnot, you maybe had shame around what you did, or maybe you were in a relationship and shouldn’t have done what you did, doesn’t make it rape,” Azari said in an April interview with NewsNation.

Azari also defended Swalwell in a statement at the time, saying “timing, nature, and coordinated rollout of these vile and heinous allegations speak for themselves.”

“This is a ruthless and shameless attempt to smear Congressman Swalwell,” she claimed.

Several women have provided detailed accounts of alleged sexual misconduct, intimidation, and worse. When the allegations reached fever-pitched Democrats finally pulled support for Swalwell.

Other than the recent report about Swalwell’s legal fees, the former Dem Rep has been uncharacteristically silent.
