Former GOP congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene shared her thoughts on the Mitch McConnell situation as the former Senate minority leader remains missing in action after a major health incident last month.
The 84-year-old remains hospitalized after paramedics were called to his home on June 14 with a 911 dispatch call suggesting that he suffered a “cardiac arrest,” and speculation about his condition has dramatically ramped up after Trump ally Laura Loomer claimed that sources told her that McConnell has “been declared a vegetable” and is on life support.
In addition to the geriatric senator’s uncertain status, conspiracy theories are circulating about the bizarre behavior of his wife Elaine Chao, who flew to China, where she is said to have met with government officials while her husband lay in a hospital bed.
“The secretary was on a long-planned trip in China to support her family’s philanthropic endeavors,” a Chao spokesperson said in a statement. “During the trip, she met with a number of people, including the US ambassador. The Senator’s health did not warrant an immediate return to the US.”
But Greene isn’t buying it.
Elaine Chao, who is likely a Chinese spy married to Mitch McConnell, has been in China almost the entire time the nearly dead Senator has been in the hospital. And she met with China’s VP.
Now that she’s back, they are running a PR campaign.

“Elaine Chao, who is likely a Chinese spy married to Mitch McConnell, has been in China almost the entire time the nearly dead Senator has been in the hospital. And she met with China’s VP,” Greene wrote in a Tuesday post to X. “Now that she’s back, they are running a PR campaign. Sure totally normal.”
The “PR campaign” that MTG is referring to was the insistence by a number of McConnell allies that they had spoken to the stricken senator over the phone, all with the similar language about their calls lasting “20 minutes,” which has also drawn scrutiny from skeptics on social media.
Among those who said that they held a conversation with the MIA senator was CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings, a MAGA hero who worked for McConnell before his cable television gig.
I spoke to my old friend Mitch McConnell this morning, the senior Senator from Kentucky. He’s still recovering in the hospital. We talked for just shy of 20 minutes … about IRAN, UKRAINE, the unfolding situation in MAINE, my visit to the TR Presidential Library, and even a…

“Senator Barrasso and Senator McConnell had a lengthy conversation early this afternoon. Their phone call lasted roughly 20 minutes. They caught up about the latest news impacting Senate races, the Graham Platner scandal, and the recent Supreme Court ruling on coordinated spending limits,” said Kate Noyes, a spokesperson for Sen. Tom Barrasso (R-WY) said in a statement about an alleged call with McConnell.
Greene also accused McConnell’s spouse of being a communist Chinese spy to a TMZ reporter.

Chao has held positions in multiple GOP administrations, serving as President George W. Bush’s Transportation Secretary and as Labor Secretary under President Donald J. Trump, who has mockingly nicknamed her “Coco Chow.”
