Democrats officially become the ‘party of PUNCHING PUPPIES’

The House passed the Bill to Outlaw Wounding of Official Working Animals (BOWOW) Act on Thursday, with 190 Democrats voting against the legislation that would render foreign nationals and noncitizens inadmissible to the United States and subject to deportation if they are convicted of, or admit to, harming animals used in law enforcement.

The bill, which is based on an Egyptian man allegedly kicking a CBP detection beagle named Freddie, who helped catch him smuggling prohibited food, now goes to the graveyard known as the U.S. Senate.

Speaker Mike Johnson noted on social media that Democrats are now officially the “party of PUNCHING PUPPIES.”

“The Democrats just decided to officially become the party of PUNCHING PUPPIES. 190 Democrats just voted to give illegal immigrants the RIGHT TO PHYSICALLY ABUSE American service dogs — serving with law enforcement protecting American citizens. The level Democrats will go to protect illegal aliens instead of Americans is disturbing, disgusting, and dangerous,” Johnson said in a post shared on X.

The Egyptian man, 70-year-old Hamed Ramadan Bayoumy Aly Marie, pleaded guilty to kicking the 5-year-old CBP detection dog in June 2025, causing rib contusions. Marie was sentenced to time served, ordered to pay $840 in veterinary bills, and deported to Egypt.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
