Pooped Jasmine Crockett: ‘If I go to sleep, Democracy may very well die’

Talk about delusions of grandeur, U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) appears to be among those who make the fatal mistake of believing their own press clippings.

Crockett is currently running for the U.S. Senate — so much for its reputation as an august body — and suggests that she’s burning the candle at both ends. After all, we know how trying it is to be a member of Congress, which averages around 150 days in session per year, leaving but a scant 250 days off.

“I want to show up when I can. But I still have a full-time job that I was elected to do,” the Democrat said in a recent Crockett Confessional post. I’m still showing up every single day I work, while also making sure Texans know that I am serious about earning their support.”

“So I am ‘Team No Sleep’ right now, but, you know what, democracy can’t wait,” Crockett added. “And if I go to sleep, democracy may very well die.”

And, no, your mind is not playing tricks on you. Crockett appears to have abandoned the heavy ghetto dialect she regularly employs when making partisan attacks.

In the Democratic primary for Texas’s U.S. Senate seat, Crockett faces challenges from Austin-area State Rep. James Talarico and businessman Ahmad Hassan. The winner will advance to the general election to face the victor of the Republican primary, where incumbent Sen. John Cornyn is competing against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt.
