Ethics committee votes to release Gaetz report, Rep. Burchett ups ante on EVERY lawmaker

The House Ethics Committee has reportedly voted to release the contents of the report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz, and one congressman has an idea on how to make it fair.

Gaetz resigned from his position in the House after being named President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General. He later withdrew from the position but did not rescind his congressional resignation.

It is now being reported that sometime during December, the Ethics Committee voted to release the full Gaetz report, and it is expected before the end of the month. This, despite House Republicans rallying to block the release of the report claiming it’s “moot” due to Gaetz’s resignation.

But the GOP isn’t backing down just yet.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) is suggesting that the contents of all ethics reports should be made public, reasoning that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Watch:

Acosta asked Burchett if he was supportive of the document release, prompting the representative to unveil his idea.

“No, I don’t. Matt’s out of Congress and I’m going to push for the Ethics Committee to release all the findings they have on every congressman. Because if it’s good for one, it’s good for all of them,” Burchett said.
