Dem guest goes on tirade about Trump ‘spewing’ ‘hate’ toward Latinos, gets immediately shut down by Fox News host

Daily Caller News Foundation

Fox News host John Roberts reminded former Democratic National Committee spokesperson Jose Aristimuno that former President Donald Trump was gaining support from Hispanic voters Wednesday.

Trump’s increased support from Hispanic voters appears to be largely due to the economy and immigration. Vice President Kamala Harris receives the support of 56% of likely Hispanic voters compared to 37% who support Trump in a head-to-head match-up, according to a New York Times poll released Oct. 13. Aristimuno claimed that Trump’s increased support was due to “disinformation” before accusing the former president of racism.

“I will say this. This does not go away from the fact that it wasn’t just the comedian that spoke garbage, because he did speak garbage, and that’s what President Biden was talking about, the sort of hate and division that Trump and his team have been spewing, not just during this rally, but the last eight years,” Aristimuno claimed. “We have to remember, let’s go back for a second, in 2016, when he came down and announced his campaign going down an escalator and said that Latinos are criminals. This is what –”

“Latinos are supporting him this time around,” Roberts told Aristimuno.

While Harris regained some support from Hispanic voters in polling since replacing Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket, she still lags behind Biden’s numbers in the 2020 election.

“Unfortunately, I will say, as a Latino as a Venezuelan-American, there is disinformation, a lot of disinformation out there,” Aristimuno said. “This president has done more for Latinos than any other president in modern history. That’s a fact. Not only with the economy, 15 million jobs, but also with the border. The crossings have gone down because Joe Biden has done what Republicans refused to do day one.”

“If you look at the record of the Trump administration, Latinos did quite well economically as did other minority voters, including black Americans,” Roberts said. “They did well. African American men increased their earning power by 12.7%. I’m not sure what Jose is talking about, about misinformation. I said that Donald Trump is gaining support among Latino voters, and that’s not disinformation.”
