The disrespectful antics of Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech were appalling for a sitting member of Congress but she has her defenders.
In remarks to reporters at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), the top House Democrat, had the anti-Semitic “Squad” member’s back after she displayed a sign smearing the leader of the Jewish nation as a “war criminal” who’s “guilty of genocide” during his address.
“Rashida Tlaib is an elected member of Congress,” the House Minority Leader told the press. “She has a responsibility to her district in the same way that I have a responsibility to my district.”

It was the typical excuse-making that’s come from party leaders over the conduct regularly exhibited by rabidly anti-Semitic progressive lawmakers known as the “Hamas Caucus” for the vitriol that they have spewed at Israel as well as acting as de facto PR agents for the terrorist organization.
Jeffries may be correct that Tlaib has a responsibility to her constituents in the heavily Muslim Detroit suburb of Dearborn, but her district has become so notorious for being a hotbed of Jew-haters and radical Islam that it’s been dubbed “America’s Jihad Capital” for the strong undercurrent of support for terrorism.
During his speech, Netanyahu blasted Iran’s “useful idiots” as a mob of Israel-hating miscreants was bused in for the occasion, clashing with the cops and vandalizing statues with their hateful graffiti. To her credit, Tlaib didn’t join in on the action in the streets but did her best to prove Bibi’s point with her silly sign, and was proud of it.
I will never back down in speaking truth to power.

“Netanyahu is a war criminal committing genocide against the Palestinian people. It is utterly disgraceful that leaders from both parties have invited him to address Congress. He should be arrested and sent to the International Criminal Court,” Tlaib said in a statement.
Jeffries has a history of being a Tlaib apologist, blaming her call for the genocide of Israeli Jews with her parroting of the Hamas slogan “from the river to the sea” last year on MAGA Republicans, an oft-invoked boogeyman for Democrats.

Remarking on Tlaib’s unseemly conduct, billionaire X owner Elon Musk observed that Jeffries’ party really hates Jews.
People who have been lifelong Democrats refuse to accept the clear reality that the Democratic Party is rapidly become openly antisemitic.
This trend is accelerating, not slowing down.

The Democratic Party has always prided itself on being a “big tent” but now it’s full of anti-Semites.
