AOC jumps on wildfire smoke in NYC and summer in Puerto Rico to push Green New Deal

Never one to pass up an opportunity to push the transformational Green New Deal agenda, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took advantage of Canadian wildfires to call for the complete overhaul of critical U.S. infrastructure and essential food systems as a part of the leftist solution to the predicted climate change doomsday.

On a day when scenes of her hometown New York City resembled that of a futuristic, dystopian, apocalyptic world reminiscent of a “Blade Runner” movie, the socialist diva tweeted out a weather graphic of the shocking news that Puerto Rico is hellishly hot in the summer to hawk the totalitarian set of policies that would dramatically remake America into an alien place that is more palatable for left-wing extremists like herself.

“Between NYC in wildfire smoke and this in PR, it bears repeating how unprepared we are for the climate crisis,” AOC wrote to her 13.4M followers. “We must adapt our food systems, energy grids, infrastructure, healthcare, etc ASAP to prepare for what’s to come and catch up to what is already here. #GreenNewDeal ”

Twitter users meted out a stinging reality check to the cartoonish green goddess’s climate cult hustle.

Images of Gotham that have been posted to Twitter are surreal, including video of iconic landmarks like the George Washington Bridge and Yankee Stadium against the smoky, orange sky.

“Across the country as of today, there are 414 wildfires burning, 239 of which are determined to be out of control,” Canada’s Federal Minister of Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair said at a briefing, according to Reuters, with the smoke spreading down the Eastern Seaboard and New York City being severely affected to the point that Mayor Eric Adams has urged the limiting of outdoor events, the closure of schools and called for New Yorkers to mask up as the air quality in the Big Apple is the worst since the 1980s and was described by New York Governor Kathy Hochul as “an emergency crisis.”

“It is important to acknowledge that the scale and the scope of what we are proposing is massive, but the scale and the scope of the climate crisis is even bigger,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an April MSNBC interview. “If we are not proactive about very aggressively and transformationally addressing our infrastructure, our workforce, our preparation for the climate crisis, then the costs of not addressing it are going to be far greater.”
