There’s an old saying among those in the business of law, which is that you never ask a question that you don’t already know the answer to — this being sage advice someone might want to share with U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

AOC saw fit to get involved in a spat involving Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, certain that would garner the attention she craves, but she didn’t count on being shown up so badly when Cruz took her to school on the history of the Democratic Party.

Cruz had commented on the NAACP issuing a ridiculous travel advisory for Florida — even though the civil rights organization‘s hypocritical president LIVES there — saying in a tweet that Dr. Martin Luther King “would be ashamed of how profoundly they’ve lost their way.”

Norman Ornstein, contributing editor for the Atlantic, weighed in to say, “Guess who would’ve been first in line to filibuster against the voting rights act, and the civil rights act. Yes, Ted Cruz!”

“Nonsense. That shameful filibuster was led by Democrats—your party,” Cruz countered. “My party—the Republicans—proudly voted for the Civil Rights Act in much higher percentages than the racist Dems.”

And this is where our socialist hero/bartender came into play, tweeting: “Why don’t you go ahead and tell people what happened to the parties after that, Ted.”

The Republican senator was just getting started, as he laid out a thread that further explained the differences between the two major parties and some of his efforts to improve the lives al all Americans.

While Ocasio-Cortez is still fumbling around to come up with a good response, Twitter boss Elon Musk was loving the jousting going on.
