Tucker Carlson and Fox News ‘agree to part ways’ effective immediately, final show was Friday

In what proves to be a bombshell development, Fox News announced abruptly on Monday that the network was parting ways with popular prime-time host Tucker Carlson, effective immediately.

“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” Fox News said in a statement. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

Carlson’s last program was Friday and he gave no indication in handing off to host Sean Hannity that anything was afoot. In fact, he told viewers, “We’ll be back on Monday, see you then.”

“Fox News Tonight” will fill the 8 p.m. EST slot that Carlson occupied, as an “interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” the network said.

Carlson delivered the keynote address at The Heritage Foundation’s 50th-anniversary gala on Friday night and spoke about the battle for America being one between good and evil.

“What you’re watching is not a political movement,” Carlson said of the politics on the left. “It’s evil.”

Carlson’s now-former Fox News colleagues seemed to be surprised in reporting the news on air Monday:

As for what’s next, the rumors are already flying…
