In response to Obama’s stated intention in 2008 to “fundamentally transform America,” a friend asked me a provocative question: “How much can a single president really hurt this country?” The question implied that no president has unlimited power; we have separation of powers and so it is impossible for the executive branch to significantly alter the direction of the country. Disproving that assumption, Barack Obama presided over the first attempt by a sitting president to take America down.
For eight years, Obama whittled away at our core values. He did everything he could to expand the power of government at the expense of individual liberty; ignored the separation of powers by doing an end run around Congress with his legion of executive orders; pushed for increased entitlements, especially healthcare, because he knew they would increase government control over the individual; stoked the fires of racial discord; and made lawlessness acceptable.
In 2021, Biden came into power and resumed the seditious Obama agenda. For the last two years, I have been watching in shock and awe as Biden’s policies destroy the US brick by brick. Here are the main areas that are being sabotaged by the Biden White House: the economy; immigration and border integrity; the justice system and the rule of law; and America’s leadership position in world affairs.
The resurgent economy resulting from four years of Trump’s sensible policies has been shattered by Biden’s adherence to the false climate agenda advocated by the UN and the World Economic Forum. Global warming is a hoax. Biden’s war on fossil fuels is destroying the economic health of the US. As Alex Epstein explains in Fossil Future, “We’re actually in a renaissance in terms of the earth and in terms of our safety from climate, and fossil fuels are an essential part of that because they power all the machines that make this such an abundant and safe world.” Without fossil fuels, our abundant way of life is doomed. There is no viable alternative to fossil fuels at the present time, nor is there likely to be one in the foreseeable future. Somebody please tell Joe Biden.
Climate Change Business Journal quantified the cost of proposed anti-global warming measures at a whopping $1.5 trillion per year—to solve a non-existent problem. An expenditure of that magnitude will destroy what’s left of the US economy. Trump understood this. Biden either doesn’t understand it, or he doesn’t care.
America’s position on the world stage is being crippled by Biden’s spineless foreign policy. Biden’s colossal failure in Afghanistan has demonstrated to our adversaries that the US has no backbone. The conflict in Ukraine can be attributed to Putin’s lack of fear that the US will try to stop him. With Trump in the White House, Putin’s forces would not be laying waste to Ukraine.
On top of this is Biden’s obvious conflict of interest, a scandal that the media have hidden from the American public. The Hunter Biden laptop that ties Joe Biden to the attempted sale of his office in Russia, Ukraine, and China is now acknowledged as legitimate. Biden is a crook.
Bear in mind that we are facing a behemoth—China—intent on replacing the US as the leading influence in the world. Given his apparent blindness to the threat from China, it is reasonable to wonder where Biden’s real allegiance lies. I keep coming back to these words of Mark Levin: “Don’t tell me that the Bidens aren’t being paid off!”
Unrestricted illegal immigration, which poses an existential threat to the US, is being enabled by the Biden administration and no one seems the least bit interested in putting an end to it. Biden has exposed the nation to an influx of millions of unvetted aliens who are dependent on massive US welfare payments, along with the dangerous incursions of the Mexican drug cartels. To pay for Biden’s expensive giveaways, the feds have printed trillions of crisp new dollars, opening the floodgates to inflation of a magnitude we have not seen in generations.
As millions of aliens are permitted to enter the US illegally and sanctuary cities and states can deliberately disregard federal statutes, the rule of law becomes a thing of the past and we no longer have a country.
The Democrats believe that if they can add enough voters from among the immigrant population, a Republican will never again be elected to office and the Dems can (a) re-write the Constitution, and (b) muscle through their Green New Deal or some other totalitarian socialist nightmare. Obama’s ideological heirs will have a free hand in fulfilling his promise to “fundamentally transform America.”
Biden is showing contempt for the rule of law by turning the Justice Department and FBI against US citizens. He is sending a message that anything goes in the pursuit of power, from weaponizing the justice system against his political opponents to rigging elections.
An example of political terrorism by the Biden administration is the attack by Attorney General Merrick Garland and the DOJ on parents’ right of free speech. Parents across the country are using their constitutionally-protected right to complain about the imposition of Critical Race Theory and mask mandates in local schools. Instead of supporting their right to complain, Garland directed the FBI and US attorney offices to crack down on parents by characterizing their protests, which are entirely legal, as crimes.
The prosecution by the DOJ of hundreds of peaceful demonstrators from the January 6 Capitol protest is another frightening miscarriage of justice by the Biden administration. Many of them have been languishing in jail under miserable conditions for more than two years awaiting their day in court. Thanks to the video footage made public by Tucker Carlson on Fox News, we know that the Biden DOJ and the January 6 Committee lied about what took place and withheld exculpatory evidence in order to punish Trump supporters.
And here is what tops all of the above: Biden’s latest executive order (which I will bet you are not aware of) is a blatant attempt to move the country from meritocracy to “diversity,” a euphemism for hiring and promoting people based on race and gender instead of competence. It requires every federal agency to ensure that all new government employees will be selected by their skin color so that preference can be given to non-whites. This is now the official policy of the US government.
Heather Mac Donald, author of The Diversity Delusion, has warned about the consequences of this racist policy. China and Russia, she says, are meritocracies. When you are a scientist in China, they don’t give a damn about your race and gender. If the US succumbs to identity politics, we will never be able to compete on the world stage.
“Americans are feeling the disastrous effects of Biden and his out-of-control administration,” writes Kenneth Porter at thesunchronicle.com. “Let’s hope and pray by the time Biden is out of office, it’s not too late to save the America we know and love.” I’m holding my breath.
