Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday, calling out the Democratic Party as socialist and proclaiming that “wokeness is a virus more dangerous than any pandemic.”
“The Democratic Party is now a socialist party. Bernie Sanders and AOC are at least honest about it,” Haley declared. “Socialism is weakening our country at the worst possible moment.”

Haley asserted that “wokeness is a virus more dangerous than any pandemic – hands down.” She added, “America isn’t perfect, but the principles at the heart of America are perfect.”
The former United Nations ambassador and South Carolina governor charged that communist China is the “strongest and most disciplined enemy we have ever faced.”

“I can’t believe what Joe Biden is letting China get away with,” she remarked. “Never in my life did I think Americans would look at the sky and see a Chinese spy balloon looking back at us.”
“Chinese companies now own more than 380,000 acres of American soil, some of it right next to our military bases,” Haley warned. “What are we doing? We should never let an enemy buy land in our country.”
Haley railed that President Biden is forcing our troops to take “gender pronoun classes” rather than combat training.
“The only competition Democrats want is the one on who’s most triggered,” she said. “We need families who are thriving and confident. But liberals have given them the highest inflation in 40 years and the lowest confidence in history. And we need our military to be stronger than ever. But what does Joe Biden have our troops doing? Taking gender pronoun classes.”

“On Biden and Harris’s watch, this woke self-loathing has swept our country,” she continued. “It’s in the classroom, the boardroom, and the backrooms of government. We’re told our country is flawed, rotten, and full of hate. Joe and Kamala even say that America’s racist.”
“A strong military doesn’t start wars. A strong military prevents wars,” she astutely pointed out. “I’ll bring the same strength to the White House that I did to the United Nations.”
Haley recounted her impressive work at the United Nations, calling dictators and despots on the carpet for abuses and atrocities. Her work at the UN included compiling a list of nations and noting how often they voted with the United States and how much aid we were giving them.
“They stab us in the back then turn around, with their hands out, wanting our money,” she stated. “To this day, we’re giving foreign aid to Pakistan, Iraq, the Palestinians, and even Communist Cuba and China. We need to stop trying to buy friends. All we’re doing is paying off enemies. When I’m president, we will stop giving money to countries that hate America!”

Haley then called for mental competency tests for elderly politicians and term limits. She smacked Biden and congressional Republicans for adding to the national debt.
“[Biden] has put us on track to add $20 trillion more in the next 10 years. And by the way – some Republicans have helped with that,” she said taking aim at some of those in her own party. “We need to stop with the earmarks and pet projects – once and for all!”
Haley proclaimed her candidacy for the presidency in mid-February. She polls far behind former President Trump who is still at the forefront for the Republican nomination in 2024. She also trails Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who has not entered the race yet.
An Emerson College poll that came out this week shows Trump leading the race for the nomination. In a hypothetical matchup, he comes out on top with 55 percent of GOP primary/caucus voters and DeSantis comes in second at 25 percent. Vice President Mike Pence is at 8 percent and Haley trails at 5 percent.
