Truth is on the ropes in post-Obama America, with a compromised media approaching most stories with a fat thumb on the scales. One thing appears certain when looking back on the Covid-19 pandemic and that is that the American people were lied to. Often.
And a few cultural leaders are finally finding the courage to speak up. One being actor Woody Harrelson, who had liberals clutching their pearls last week when he mocked vaccines during his “Saturday Night Live” monologue, talking about the “craziest script” he ever read — more on that later. Harrelson doubled down on a stance that drew widespread criticism from all the familiar faces on the left in an interview with The New York Times, where the A-list actor called vaccine mandates and mask requirements “absurd.”
On Thursday, Harrelson got a major boost from another major Hollywood star when actor Tim Robbins, of “Shawshank Redemption” fame, tweeted, “Woody is right. Time to end this charade.”
Robbins tagged the Screen Actors Guild – the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Actors’ Equity Association in his tweet.
In a December interview with Russel Brand, Robbins talked about how “Orwellian” Covid protocols were based on politics, not science.
“We became aware of the idea that the vaccinated could spread [the virus] and catch it like the unvaccinated … to continue the policy of lockdowns or mandates after that didn’t seem to be following the science,” Robbins said. “It was following a political agenda. That’s where I really started to have problems with it.”
He took notice of how the term “vaccine” changed and evolved and the denial that natural immunity mattered — even Dr. Anthony Fauci dismissed it, even though the science said otherwise.
“The fact that there were these changes of definitions … my alarm bells went off. I wondered, what is going on?” he asked. “In the past natural immunity was one of the building blocks to moving forward.”
The NY Times asked Harrelson what was “absurd” about the Covid protocols Hollywood still has in place and he didn’t hold back.
“I don’t think that anybody should have the right to demand that you’re forced to do the testing, forced to wear the mask and forced to get vaccinated three years on. I’m just like, let’s be done with this nonsense,” he said. “It’s not fair to the crews. I don’t have to wear the mask. Why should they? Why should they have to be vaccinated? How’s that not up to the individual? I shouldn’t be talking about this [expletive].”
He’s right in the sense that saying these things two years ago would have likely gotten him canceled, despite his A-list stature.
“It makes me angry for the crew,” Harrelson continued. “The anarchist part of me, I don’t feel that we should have forced testing, forced masking and forced vaccination. That’s not a free country. Really I’m talking about the crew. Because I can get out of wearing a mask. I can test less. I’m not in the same position they’re in, but it’s wrong. It’s three years. Stop.”
On SNL, he joked about how “the biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes,” adding that people “can only come out if they take the cartel’s drugs and keep taking them over and over.”
“I threw the script away,” he quipped. “I mean, who was going to believe that crazy idea? Being forced to do drugs? I do that voluntarily all day.”
As might be expected, intolerant members of the Covid cult reacted with outrage over the harsh dose of truth Harrelson and Robbins are pushing:
I will do my best to not support anything that includes either one of you. You both should do some campaigning for trump in ’24.

At the same time, the actors had plenty of support:
Sir, I doubt we agree on much politically, but on this you are 100% right.

Thank you @TimRobbins1 and @WoodyHarrelson for speaking out and standing up for us. I’m one of the film/tv people who after 25+ years, have been pushed out of my career for refusing to be injected, muzzled, or tested.

It’s really hard to go against the grain. I have not always agreed with your politics but I have always thought of you as a principled person. You are also one of my favorite actors. Loved you in The Hudsucker Proxy.
