Not everyone is enamored with the romanticism of Valentine’s Day.
Take Fox News anchor Julie Banderas, for instance, who took to the late-night cable hit “Gutfeld!” to announce her impending divorce.
As the panel ripped on the commercialism of the holiday, host Greg Gutfeld threw it over to Banderas who was eager to get in a few jabs of her own.
“Julie, I don’t know what your relationship is, it’s none of my business but tell me, is it over? Are you gonna get anything for Valentine’s Day?” Gutfeld probed.
“F**k Valentine’s Day,” she spit. “It’s stupid. I mean even when I was married I didn’t get s**t for Valentine’s Day.”
“Wait, are you no longer married?” Gutfeld inquired further.
“Well I’m getting a divorce. I’m gonna go ahead and say it right here for the very first time,” she responded to laughter from Gutfeld and applause from the audience.
“Thank you, everyone,” she smiled. “Congratulations are in order!”
“Do you clap for that?” panelist Tyrus asked.
“Yes! Absolutely! Well if you know me, you’ll clap,” Banderas joked. “That was breaking news right there.”
Banderas took the time to continue her crusade against the holiday.
“I mean Valentine’s Day, it’s a Hallmark holiday, it’s stupid. It’s just absolutely ridiculous and I don’t think that you need one day to- and by the way, guys, if you are gonna get your girl flowers, don’t bring ’em to her in a box,” she advised. “No flowers in a box. I don’t want anything that’s alive in a box. If you come to me in a box you better be dead.”
Banderas had previously alluded to having a “little announcement” on Twitter Thursday evening, even pinning it to the top of her feed.
