Kellyanne Conway blasts Senate Republicans: ‘Where were most of you?’

Republican strategist Kellyanne Conway brutally hammered GOP senators for abandoning Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker during his campaign and the midterm runoff against opponent Senator Raphael Warnock, essentially handing the election to the Democrats.

Walker lost the runoff by less than 100,000 votes. The Republicans had already lost their bid to regain the Senate, but Walker’s loss strengthens President Biden’s chances of getting his leftist agenda items shoved through. In the end, Democrats have a 51 to 49 seat majority in the Senate after Warnock’s win.

Conway appeared on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s show Wednesday and took Republicans and sitting senators to the woodshed over not firmly standing behind Walker in Georgia. Other than Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and a few others, Herschel Walker was pretty much left to fend for himself in the race.

The former Trump advisor first addressed changes in election procedures and basically admonished conservatives to adapt or die. She contended that running for office is no longer about a Republican candidate being loyal to the country, it’s about collecting votes and connecting with voters. Conway admonished Republicans to embrace early and mail-in voting.

“These are the rules: we either adapt or die,” she told Hannity.

Conway could not understand why Walker was forced to face a Democratic onslaught and a fundraising juggernaut on the left by himself.

“To the 49 Republican senators, where were most of you?” she angrily asked. “Why weren’t you in Georgia?”

“They all should have been because they should’ve been there in some form, town hall, in person, saying the following: ‘I served in the United States Senate with Raphael Warnock. He’s a terrible senator. He doesn’t represent Georgia. He’s not fit to serve. He voted for the Inflation Reduction Act that doesn’t do that. He said nothing when they pulled out of Afghanistan. He said nothing that Joe Biden has been to Delaware 174 days, down to the border zero days,” she railed.

“Where were the other senators to say, ‘I want Herschel Walker, not Raphael Warnock, in the Senate with me?’” Conway demanded to know.

Conway was not alone in her fury over Walker being abandoned during his run against Warnock.

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham was also furious with Republican senators for not supporting Walker.

We felt this coming. To me, it never felt like the Senate Republicans wanted this guy in office. He was a Trump pick, they didn’t like that,” Ingraham noted on her show shortly after the election of Warnock.

“We don’t change anything,” Ingraham continued. “We have the same people in place in leadership, same people in place apparently at the RNC, perhaps that’s not changing. But we just keep doing the same thing over and over again. I’m pissed tonight, frankly. I’m mad.”

Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene saw it a bit differently, blaming Sens. Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham for Walker’s defeat.

“This is for Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham and the rest of the Republican senators; you guys are the reasons why we are losing Republican races all over the country,” she told Steve Bannon on his War Room podcast.

Greene also claimed she was prevented from campaigning for Walker.

“The audacity and really frank rudeness of the campaign consultants and Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham where they thought, you know, we’re going to keep Marjorie Taylor Greene away from Herschel Walker and we don’t need her voice at his campaign rallies and events where we’re campaigning all over the state,” she raged, asserting that her not campaigning for Walker hurt his chances of winning the election.

“I think is really a major mistake and an insult to me and insult to people who support me and Republicans all over Georgia,” she stated.

Greene also suggested in a tweet after the runoff that “campaign strategies, messaging, and missteps” were to blame for Walker’s defeat.
