Joy Reid says Herschel Walker being ‘walked around’ by Lindsey Graham shows GOP ‘disrespects’ black men

MSNBC host Joy Reid once again used racism to bolster her baseless accusations against conservatives, claiming that Sen. Lindsey Graham “walked around” Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker and that it proves “disrespect” for black men.

Graham (R-SC) has appeared alongside Walker as he campaigns in Georgia and Reid evidently finds that offensive. Of course, any excuse will do when the left wants to be offended.

As Walker and his opponent, incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock, campaign to the finish line, the media is fixating on Republicans helping the former running back in an incredibly important race. And their favorite target is Graham who has steadfastly appeared alongside the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Reid and Democratic Party strategist LaTosha Brown spouted faux rage, claiming that black men are finding Walker’s campaign “insulting.”

“Black people are upset,” Brown asserted. “They feel insulted. They feel insulted that here the Republicans would actually pick a candidate and because he was a ballplayer, that in some way, and if they planted this narrative that black men were not going to vote and are upset with the Democratic Party, that those two things would be enough for us to be fooled.”

Brown contended that black voters are too “sophisticated” to be won over by a former professional athlete, and then pulled out the ever-present race card, describing Walker’s campaign as “racist.”

“There’s a certain level of feeling insulted and that is racist. And there’s a motivating factor of who Warnock is. Warnock is a Southern Baptist preacher of Martin Luther King’s church. At the end of the day, that’s a lot of history, that’s a lot of connectivity to who we are in the South. Those things are working where I think black folks are saying enough is enough. We can show you better than we can tell you,” Brown stated.

Reid responded by accusing Graham of “walking” the Republican candidate around ostensibly like a slave.

“I have heard this from a lot of black men even if they’re not in Georgia,” Reid claimed. “There’s a certain disrespect that a lot of black men, in particular, feel about particularly the way that Walker has been walked around by people like Lindsey Graham and sort of used and put forward. They don’t seem to respect him, and they don’t seem to respect black people.”

Reid, of course, is not an unbiased news reporter. She had Warnock on to promote him, attempting to give him one final boost before the vote takes place in a very close race.

Walker and Warnock face a runoff on Tuesday after being in what was considered a virtual tie during the midterm elections. The runoff was required because, under Georgia law, a candidate needs to win more than 50 percent of all votes cast in order to be elected.

Polls show Warnock with a slight lead over Walker but Americans have become disabused of polls over the last several elections. As of Monday, a record 154,176 early voting ballots had been accepted, according to Gabriel Sterling, chief operating officer for Georgia’s Secretary of State.

If Walker wins the race, Georgia will stay pretty much solidly red. If Warnock wins, according to Bloomberg, it becomes a battleground state which many already believe it is with or without Warnock.

A Warnock win would also help Democrats retain control of the Senate in 2024. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Montana’s Jon Tester, and Sherrod Brown, of Ohio, are all Democrats in GOP bastions that are up for reelection and are in peril of losing their seats.
