The Left is pulling off an amazing feat in striking the moral high ground while supporting the sexualization of children via so-called “child-friendly” events that feature flamboyant drag queens flaunting their sexual fetishes in front of small children — events that more and more include the children actually participating in the spectacle.
This contortion was on full display over the weekend in Columbus, Ohio, where a “Holi-drag storytime” event being held by the Red Oak Community School was canceled after the Proud Boys announced well ahead of time that they would be showing up to protest — the far-right group was reportedly joined by others, including the dubious Patriot Front group that many on the right swear are federal agents.
(Talk about perversions, the drag queen story hour was being held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church.)
A woman, identified in various media reports as the mother of a gay child, is seen on video essentially berating a police officer for high-fiving a person who complimented his mustache — while it’s not clear who the officer high-fived, in the eyes of the woman he was a white nationalist and a “fascist” — it’d be interesting to hear her take on Antifa.

The officer, Columbus Police Sergeant Steven Dyer, who said he was part of the local police force’s “Dialogue Team,” was only too happy to explain his actions, telling the woman that he was “building relationships.”
“With fascists?” the mother asks.
“I am not supporting their cause, I am not here hanging out with them. I am here to support their right to protest,” Dyer replied.

Trying to be friendly with his inquisitor, Dyer added with a slight smile, “They were talking about my mustache, the guy said I had a good mustache. That is all it is.”
He was clear that he was not supporting their cause and told the woman she could request his body camera footage to see the entire interaction if she wanted to.
“I can see the optics of it looking that way,” he explained. “Just like when we’re at a homicide scene and somebody tells a joke and you try not to laugh.”
When the woman expresses skepticism, Dyer offers his business card and essentially said he’s there to ensure everyone’s rights are respected.
“My goal is to facilitate people’s right to protest. I meet all kinds of groups. I am not supporting anybody’s cause,” Officer Dyer said.
In the end, the left screams “fascist” because they believe that trumps the negative characterization that rational people apply to the sexualization of children, a growing phenomenon that many see as grooming.
As for the attitude toward police from those who support drag queens interacting with children…

Cheryl Ryan, Red Oak Community School Manager, was critical of the police, claiming they would not offer protection.
“It turns out, our biggest problem wasn’t the Proud Boys after all,” Ryan said, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
Public Information Sgt. Jeffrey Mooney disputed that claim, saying police communicated with the church, school, neighbors and businesses in the area leading up to the planned event to inform them of safety plans.
“The school and church were consistently involved in those discussions through email and phone calls,” Mooney said, according to the newspaper. “CPD was told by the school that we could have plainclothes officers outside the event, but not inside the building for they had hired their own private security. CPD pulled together resources from several units to make sure we were present, including officers from our bike patrol and dialogue team. Even though the event was cancelled, we still had personnel and officers in the area to make sure all parties were safe.”
