Free speech absolutist Elon Musk threatens to upset the entire apple cart by exposing just how far-reaching the efforts have been to silence voices on the right, which helps explain why he has become Public Enemy #1 for the left.
On Monday, he teased the release of files that will reveal just how extensive Twitter’s efforts have been to suppress free speech.
“The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself. The public deserves to know what really happened …, the new Twitter boss tweeted.

Musk would follow up on that with this offering: “This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead.”
As any rational American would agree, there was no greater example of censorship than the reaction to the Hunter Biden laptop story in the run-up to the 2020 election, with polling showing that the outcome would have been different had there been honest reporting on the contents of the laptop.
Musk responded to a social media user suggesting that he make public all the internal discussions on the matter to say, “This is necessary to restore public trust.”
