‘Hey, stop defaming me!’ Elon Musk faces off with Anti-Defamation League CEO over Trump

Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), didn’t bargain for the backlash he would receive when he played the “hate card” against Elon Musk.

For those who spent the weekend hiding under a rock, the “Chief Twit” ran a Twitter poll asking if former President Donald Trump should be reinstated, saying the voice of the people would prevail — on an aside, some suggested the poll, which Musk said was seen by 134 million people, was a brilliant plot to trap bots.

“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Musk would tweet, after more than 15 million people voted and reinstatement prevailed by a close margin.

And while Trump has suggested thus far that he has no plans to return to Twitter, opting instead to continue using his own social media platform Truth Social, Greenblatt did his part to contribute to what appears to be a spirited campaign on the left to take Musk and his quest for “free speech” down a notch or two by destroying Twitter.

“For @elonmusk to allow Donald Trump back on Twitter, ostensibly after a brief poll, shows he is not remotely serious about safeguarding the platform from hate, harassment and misinformation,” Greenblatt tweeted.

The great thing about Twitter is that people you target can tweet back — unless you opt to block them — and Musk did just that when he tweeted: “Hey stop defaming me!”

As for the alleged campaign to destroy Twitter, Greenblatt would go on to question if it was time for the social media platform “to go,” as if he and his cohorts on the left are the arbiters of such a decision.

After saying that during a meeting with Musk, the billionaire committed “to not replatform anyone until he installed a transparent, clear process that took into consideration the views of civil society,” Greenblatt tweeted: “@elonmusk’s decisions over the last month have been erratic and alarming, but this decision is dangerous and a threat to American democracy. We need to ask — is it time for Twitter to go?”

However, the left’s fixation with Twitter appears to be having the opposite effect, according to the new boss:

Not that is was a factor in the poll to reinstate Trump, but the former president is now an official 2024 presidential candidate and that opens an entirely different argument about the right of people to hear what he has to say.

As for Greenblatt, he’s clearly used to playing with a deck stacked in his favor, but he should be careful because the next poll Musk shares could be on HIS fate.
