As inflation rocks nation, Biden reportedly dropping $300K for granddaughter’s White House wedding

While Americans grapple with choosing between heating their homes and hosting a Thanksgiving dinner, President Joe Biden hosted the wedding of his eldest granddaughter, Naomi, daughter of his scandal-ridden son, Hunter, on the South Lawn of the White House on Saturday — an event that is expected to cost the Big Guy at least $300,000.

To be clear, we at American Wire do not hold the 28-year-old Naomi responsible for the (alleged) sins of either her father or her grandpa, and we wish her nothing but happiness in her marriage to 25-year-old Peter Neal. But, for many, the tone-deaf nature of the White House spectical at a time when so many in the nation are struggling beggars belief.

According to CNN, “the extended Biden clan” was “on the guest list,” as were “friends and family of the couple.”

The event, according to the outlet, was “a kickoff of sorts for the tight-knit Bidens to begin earnest discussions over whether Joe Biden should run for a second term” — exactly what every bride hopes for on her big day.

Hunter Biden and Naomi’s mother, the first son’s estranged first wife, Kathleen Buhle, walked the radiant bride down the aisle as 250 guests froze in 39-degree temperatures.

President Biden, who turned 80 over the weekend, and First Lady Jill Biden were “filled with pride” over the union.

“It has been a joy to watch Naomi grow, discover who she is, and carve out such an incredible life for herself,” the duo said in a White House statement. “Now, we are filled with pride to see her choose Peter as her husband and we’re honored to welcome him to our family. We wish them days full of laughter and a love that grows deeper with every passing year.”

“Following the marriage ceremony, the President and First Lady hosted a wedding luncheon for family and the wedding party in the State Dining Room of the White House,” the administration shared. “A reception with dessert and dancing will take place later this evening.”

As the Associate Press noted, White House weddings are “reserved for the privileged few.”

In 200 years, the People’s House has hosted just 18 wedding ceremonies.

But because it was a “private event,” We the People were kept out of it.

“Using the White House as a personal wedding hall…” wrote one user on Twitter, “not cool.”

“This family has been mocking Americans for decades,” stated another.

And the media, which is arguably the entity most responsible for putting Biden in the White House to begin with, was less than pleased with the decision to shut them out.

“The bride and groom could have chosen a private space to hold a private wedding,” tweeted disgruntled NBC Senior White House Correspondent Kelly O’Donnell. “Using the White House which belongs to the American people gives this event a public component and thus the WH press should have been approved to cover a portion of the event for historical record.”

The Daily Caller’s White House correspondent, Diana Glebova, slammed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for ignoring questions about the President’s recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in favor of wedding and birthday discussions.

And even CNN admitted the White House wedding was something of a “cover” for a subject President Biden would rather avoid: His advancing age.

“Two people familiar with the planning of the wedding say it was not a coincidence Naomi Biden’s wedding weekend coincides with the president’s day – noting the ‘age issue’ is never something Biden wants to highlight,” CNN reported.

“‘The wedding gives some cover,'” says one of the people,” the outlet quoted a source as saying.
