NYT journo claims Trump ‘furious’ over Oz loss in PA, reportedly blames Melania for endorsement

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman is claiming that people close to former President Trump say that he is “furious” over the Senate loss in Pennsylvania and is directing his anger at his wife, Melania, blaming her for advising him to back Dr. Mehmet Oz.

According to the report by Haberman, Trump is incensed over the disappointing results for Republicans nationally during the midterm elections Tuesday.

Oz lost to a stroke-impaired John Fetterman who has trouble even articulating his thoughts. That Senate race was watched very closely nationally and would have helped Republicans win back the Senate majority. The win by Fetterman allows Democrats to pick up a seat previously held by Republican Sen. Pat Toomey.

Haberman claims to have access to Trump’s inner circle and is no fan of the former president or Republicans in general.

She tweeted on Wednesday, “Trump is indeed furious this morning, particularly about Mehmet Oz, and is blaming everyone who advised him to back Oz – including his wife, describing it as not her best decision, according to people close to him.”

“There are people pushing Trump to reschedule his announcement next week, and several Rs have texted asking whether he will, but it’s risky and would be acknowledging he’s wounded by yesterday, something that some of his advisers insist is not the case,” she contended. “Worth remembering that Trump is a grown man who endorsed Oz over the objection of some of the people closest to him, and instead went beyond just endorsing and attacked Dave McCormick from the stage at a rally.”

The “red wave” expected by many Republicans on Tuesday did not materialize. A number of conservatives and pundits have laid the blame at Trump’s feet.

Dr. Oz, who came to fame through Oprah Winfrey, was given the former president’s endorsement in the Pennsylvania Senate primary over Dave McCormick, who many conservatives favored. Oz had no political experience but found his footing by relating to the needs of Republicans in the state.

Even though Oz trailed in the polls until just a few days before the election, many thought he had a very real chance of winning given Fetterman’s physical condition and radical stances.

Fetterman was prepared to sue over ballots that were disqualified, but in the end, didn’t need to. He shockingly won Tuesday night despite his extreme leftist leanings and being physically hampered. Oz conceded Wednesday morning to Fetterman.

Rumors swirled earlier in the year that Melania Trump supported Oz and made her case to Trump for his endorsement, according to Fox News.

CNN anchor Jim Accosta also threw allegations at Trump, tweeting, “‘Trump is livid’ and ‘screaming at everyone,’ after last night’s disappointing midterm results for GOP, according to a Trump adviser. The adviser went on to slam the former president’s handpicked contenders: ‘they were all bad candidates.’ ‘Candidates matter,’ the adviser said.”

That got pushback from a number of conservatives.

Co-chairman of the Center for American Security Keith Kellogg, responded, “Jim, That is garbage. I was sitting with him at Mar-A-Lago watch party along with others until he retired to his living quarters. He was fine. He talked to press early on and circulated the MAL Ball Room as well. Why don’t you name the ‘Advisor’?”

Richard Grenell, the former acting director of national intelligence, clapped back as well, tweeting “This isn’t true, Jim. Whoever you are calling an advisor isn’t an actual advisor. Does your editor know the name of your ‘source’?”

Despite Americans being concerned about inflation, crime, immigration, and other issues that have been made massively worse by Democrats, Republicans did not sweep the elections as expected. Whether it was due to candidate selection, Trump, or other issues is hard to tell but the blame game has begun.
