Newly released video purports to show Pelosi fear for Pence’s safety as she munches beef jerky

In new footage from CNN that is for an HBO documentary on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the powerful Democrat can be seen calling Vice President Mike Pence to worriedly check on his safety while she snaps into a snack stick.

Several snippets of the video have strategically been released on Friday just weeks before the midterm elections. One shows Pelosi asserting she would punch former President Trump if he dared come to the Capitol on Jan. 6.

Many are beginning to doubt the veracity of the video clips. Pelosi’s daughter just happened to be filming her when she made the statement about Trump. When she called Pence, some feel Pelosi sounded incredibly insincere and that was before she munched on what appeared to be a beef jerky snack stick.

On Thursday night’s edition of CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” the host showed the footage that was shot by Pelosi’s daughter, expanding on clips that were shown at the hearing.

In one clip, Pelosi is seen speaking to Pence on her cellphone after he was evacuated to a garage under the Capitol. Amid what was portrayed as fear for her life as well as Pence’s, the speaker had time for a snack. The clip was evidently also meant to show what good buddies Pelosi and Pence were.

During the call, she told Pence to stay safe during the riot. Pelosi basically told him to hide and not let anyone know where he was.

“Hi, Mr. Vice President. Hi, yes, we’re okay. We’re here with Mr. Schumer, Mr. McConnell, the leadership, House and Senate. And how are you?” she asked.

“Oh, my goodness, where are you? God bless you. But are you in a very safe — well, we are still not safe enough for us to go back. We’re being told it could take days to clear the Capitol and that we should be moving everyone here to get the job done. We’re at [bleep] which has facilities for the House and the Senate to meet,” the speaker continued.

“We’d rather go to the Capitol and do it there, but it doesn’t seem to be safe. We’ve gotten a very bad report about the conditions of the House floor with defecation and all that kind of thing,” Pelosi over-dramatically stated while on the phone.

“Okay, and then call us back. Okay. I worry about you being in that Capitol though. Don’t let anybody know where you are,” she added.

At one point during the calling of other leaders, Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) railed and said the president needed to make a statement. Pelosi later told him that she had a call with Vice President Mike Pence, and Schumer replied that he talked to then-Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, who was then a US senator.

“We have got to get … finish the proceedings or else they will have a complete victory,” Pelosi told someone over the phone as she was escorted to a secure location from the House floor after rioters disrupted the official count of 2020 electoral votes.

Pelosi huddled in a small room with Reps. James Clyburn (D-SC), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and other Democrats as she plotted how to resume House business.

“There has to be some way we can maintain the sense that people have, that there’s some security or some confidence, that government can function and that you can elect the President of the United States,” Pelosi proclaimed, after which she was informed that everybody on the House floor was putting on gas masks.

Pence later called Pelosi and informed her that Capitol Police and other authorities had determined that the building was safe for lawmakers to reconvene.

On Thursday, some of the video pieces were aired during the final hearing of the January 6 inquisition. That hearing ended with a vote to subpoena former President Trump. For Trump’s part, he told Fox News he’d love to testify.
