Former first lady Melania Trump blasted a former aide who released what she says are “spitefully edited” recordings that portray her in a negative light, especially when it comes to Christmas, a holiday that was joyously celebrated in the White House in the four years sandwiched between the Obama and Biden regimes.
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who like so many other Trump administration figures cashed in with a gossipy tell-all book on her experience, saw a perfect opportunity to get attention during her 2020 book tour by serving up the secretly recorded tape to the media which then used it as the basis for their ongoing smearing of Mrs. Trump.
Wolkoff, who was a senior advisor to the first lady, penned her account of her time in the Trump White House with “Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady,” a book in which she trashed her former friend and boss.
On Tuesday, Melania Trump provided a statement to conservative website Breitbart on her former underling and the “malicious intent” regarding the tape which took out of context her remarks from a larger exchange between the two about her frustrations with a media that savaged her over remarks on the alleged separations of families at the border.
“While I was serving as First Lady of our country, Stephanie Wolkoff secretly recorded several of our conversations. Wolkoff then spitefully edited and released our conversation to create the perception that Christmas is not significant to me,” Trump said. “I will personally set the record straight because the mainstream media has failed to provide context for these misleading exchanges. Christmas is an important time for me, my family, and the American people, and my devotion to the holiday is personal and profoundly serious.”

“Most people will agree that reuniting migrant children with their parents is more important than discussing Christmas decorations during summertime. The fact that Wolkoff deleted this part of our conversation, where I expressed hope to reunite families split apart at the southern border, exposes her malicious intent,” the statement read. “Wolkoff is untrustworthy. Her contract with the First Lady’s Office was terminated in February 2018, and she was later charged with violating the confidentiality clause of her White House Employment Agreement.”
Wolkoff had a hissy fit on Twitter after being called out by Mrs. Trump, “Melania Trump LIES AGAIN…capitalizing on my name to take advantage of the American people! She has nothing better to do than to impugn my integrity and lie again in order to sell some ornaments.”
“SHAME ON YOU @MELANIATRUMP,” she wrote. “P.S. I don’t lie!!!”

“PATHETIC!” Wolkoff raged in another tweet. “Melania Trump needs to attack ME to sell Christmas ornament NFT’s. What is Melania worried about? She can’t sell ornaments on her own?”
“What’s the next attack against me? When she tries to sell lightweight jackets that say “I DON’T REALLY CARE! DO YOU?””
