Liz Cheney says claim from anonymous source Trump vowed ‘never’ to leave office ‘affirms reality of the danger’

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is refusing to ride off into the sunset after being humiliated in Wyoming and has instead decided to legitimize allegations that former President Trump refused to leave office after losing the 2020 election.

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman is once again using anonymous sources in her new book, quoting an aide to Trump who claims the former president allegedly said he would not leave the White House after losing the 2020 election. The book is in itself leftist propaganda which is apparent in its title, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America.”

“I’m just not going to leave,” Trump reportedly told the aide. The book also claims Trump told another staffer, “We’re never leaving. How can you leave when you won an election?”

She even claimed in the book that he told Republican National Committee Ronna McDaniel, “Why should I leave if they stole it from me?”

Worthy of note is that leftists such as Haberman hide behind anonymous sources to smear Trump and his supporters endlessly, so this accusation is nothing new.

CNN host Jake Tapper sat down with Cheney on Monday to get her reaction to the allegation and she responded just as you would expect her to.

“Maggie Haberman of the New York Times has a new book coming out and among the many scoops in her book are the fact that Donald Trump told aides in the days following his loss in the election that he was just going to stay at the White House,” Tapper reported and then solicited her reaction to the quotes from the book.

“Sometimes people will say, ‘Well, you know, what happened wasn’t that big a deal because if Mike Pence had rejected a slate of electors the Supreme Court would have sorted it out,’” Cheney told Tapper.

“There are a lot of ways people sort of say this wasn’t as dangerous as it really was,” she charged. “And when you hear something like that, I think you have to recognize that we were in no man’s land and territory we’ve never been in before as a nation.”

She falsely contended that if the Supreme Court ruled against Trump in the matter, the court would have no way to enforce its ruling.

“You have to ask yourself, but who would have enforced the rulings of the court? And if you have a president who’s refusing to leave the White House or who’s saying he refuses to leave the White House, then anyone who sort of stands aside and says someone else will handle it, is themselves putting the nation at risk,” she asserted.

“It’s clear that when you’re in the moment that we faced, everyone has to stand up and take responsibility and I think that’s not surprising that those are the sentiments that he reportedly expressed,” Cheney commented once again showing how deeply she despises Trump. “I think, again, it just affirms the reality of the danger.”
