Ex-NFL great Herschel Walker eyes daylight in crucial Georgia Senate race, pulls ahead of Dem foe

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker has opened up a lead on his Democrat opponent in Georgia, one of the races that will be a key if the GOP hopes to retake control of the upper chamber of Congress from the most extreme political party in the nation’s history.

According to a new poll, the former star NFL running back now leads incumbent and fire-breathing leftist preacher, Sen. Raphael Warnock, in the closely watched Peach State contest, a good sign for his party which also shows Republican Governor Brian Kemp solidly leading the deeply unlikeable Stacey Abrams in his own race.

The poll, by InsiderAdvantage/FOX 5 Atlanta which was released on Thursday showed Walker receiving 47 percent support over Warnock’s 44 percent in the race in which the two have alternated leads, with Walker taking advantage of a four-point decrease in the Democrat’s numbers since a July poll and trending in the right direction heading into the midterm elections.

“Warnock is winning among younger voters and seniors but trails badly among those 40-64. Men support Walker at 60%, while women support Warnock at 55%. Walker is receiving 12% support from African American respondents,” said InsiderAdvantage Chairman Matt Towery. “With only 4% undecided, this race could very well be headed to a General Election runoff given the fact that there seems to be few points among the various demographics up for grabs.”

Walker – who has been the target of racial attacks – just put out a new campaign ad denouncing the left for their politics of racial division with quotes from Abrams, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Warnock using race to “rub raw the resentments of the people,” in the words of notorious left-wing activist Saul Alinsky.

“Senator Warnock believes America is a bad country full of racist people. I believe we’re a great country full of generous people. Warnock wants to divide us, I want to bring us together,” he said in a message of optimism and hope in the finest tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Walker appeared on Fox News the day before the new poll came out where he talked about his Senate race with host Sean Hannity.

“People want a change in Washington. Senator Warnock is a cut from the cloth of Joe Biden. And what I mean by that is he believes in higher taxes, he believes in open borders, he voted to put men in women sports. And that’s not what the Georgian people want,” Walker said. “The Georgian people want someone they can trust, and they can trust in Herschel Walker.”

Walker’s legendary football career began at the University of Georgia where he won the 1982 Heisman Trophy and nearly carried the Bulldogs to the national championship before signing with the upstart United States Football League (USFL) where he played for three years for the New Jersey Generals, setting records before moving on to the NFL where he played for 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Following his professional sports career, Walker went on to become a very successful businessman who has conservative values, something that Democrats who are determined to keep black voters inside the gates of their party plantation absolutely despise.

Also according to the InsiderAdvantage/FOX 5 Atlanta survey, Governor Kemp has broken into the open field against his egomaniacal opponent.

“Kemp leads in every age group in the survey. He receives right at 10% of African American support and a rather astounding 68% of white voters surveyed. Abrams has an impressive 54% of female voters while Kemp receives 63% from men,” Towery explained. “Kemp has support from 50% of independents. With two months to go, Kemp would seem poised to potentially escape Georgia’s General Election runoff requirement.”

Democrats’ hopes for turning Georgia blue could be in trouble if the current numbers hold and that would be a good thing for America.
