Paul Pelosi’s wrecked Porsche goes up for auction with a list of damages

Paul Pelosi’s black 2021 Carrera 4S Porsche is going up on the auction block at Copart.com with a listing of damage to its “sides” and “undercarriage” after he drunkenly wrecked it in California.

It is listed with an estimated retail value of nearly $170,000, before factoring in the wreck, with only 2,738 miles on it. The vehicle’s identification number is redacted in police reports and a Carfax history report on the VIN doesn’t show the car owner’s name. The Carfax report does reveal that the vehicle was involved in a “severe” accident on May 28, which is the day Paul Pelosi crashed the car, according to Fox News.

The report also states that the vehicle suffered “front or side impact” damages, deployed its airbags, and was towed in the incident.

Photos of the vehicle on the auction site show the same damages to the car as those of Pelosi’s Porsche released by the police according to the New York Post.

Pelosi, 82, was allegedly returning from a dinner party to the family’s $5 million vineyard, River Run, on May 28. While heading home, Jesus Lopez, 48, of Calistoga, California., driving a 2014 Jeep, was involved in a crash with Pelosi’s Porsche in a dark intersection in Napa around 10:15 p.m. The other driver was injured in the wreck.

When police arrived on the scene they noted that the Speaker of the House’s husband showed obvious signs of intoxication according to a criminal complaint. He reportedly smelled heavily of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, and slurred his speech when speaking with officers. When the police arrived, Pelosi was sitting in the driver’s seat of his Porsche.

When a sobriety test was conducted, Pelosi’s blood alcohol content hit .082 percent according to court documents. That’s just above the .08 percent limit. However, it should be noted that officers waited two hours before giving him the test which means his blood alcohol content was allegedly much higher than that.

Dashcam footage was released by the California Highway Patrol on Tuesday showing Paul Pelosi mumbling answers to an officer that he had a “glass of champagne before dinner” and also “a glass of white” wine.

Pelosi told officers that he began drinking at about 7 p.m. and stopped roughly an hour later.

He pleaded guilty to the DUI and was sentenced to 5 days in jail, three years on probation, $5,000 in restitution to the victim, and a three-month DUI program. He is also required to have a certified ignition device installed on his vehicle for a year. Pelosi will pay nearly $2,000 in fines.

Pelosi served two days in jail and received good conduct credit for them according to Napa County Superior Court Judge Joseph Solga. He will work eight hours in the court’s work program in lieu of the remaining day. He did not attend his sentencing, according to the Associated Press.

Pelosi is a multimillionaire real estate investor and venture capitalist. His wife, Nancy Pelosi, was not with him at the time of the accident. She claims she was in Rhode Island.
