Things get awkward when Biden forgets he already shook Schumer’s hand SECONDS before

President Joe Biden signed into law the CHIPS and Science Act on Tuesday, but the moment getting the most attention has nothing at all to do with the legislation.

During an awkward moment when Senate Majority Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., went around shaking hands, including with Biden. However, just moments later, the president again offered his hand to Schumer, prompting many to wonder if he had already forgotten.

Some described the moment as “scary.”

But this wasn’t the only painful moment of the signing ceremony.

While delivering his remarks, he continued to cough into his hand after just recently coming down with COVID-19. He has since tested negative for the virus, but the concerning optics of the moment remain, especially with the amount of hand-shaking that took place at the event.

As if the cringe couldn’t get worse, cameras caught Biden grabbing the hands of Senator Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and not letting go until she appeared to pull away from his grasp. This was an uncomfortable moment for many:
