Former President Trump gave a speech at the America First Policy Institute on Tuesday, proposing “high-quality tents” for the homeless on the “outer reaches of town,” once again enraging leftists.
Trump has spoken out previously on the homeless situation besieging cities across the nation. He is suggesting that tent cities with hardened facilities and professionals on tap to assist those struggling with various issues will help alleviate the problem.
The former president is at least coming up with solutions while Democrats ostensibly let the problem persist, fester, and grow, endangering everyone who comes across homeless encampments populated with drug addicts, criminals, the insane, and those down on their luck.
“And then you look at the tents and the homeless, and you say, ‘What’s happening to this great bastion?'” Trump told his audience. He noted that the best way to handle the problem is by utilizing “large parcels of inexpensive land on the outer reaches of the cities.”
Trump also suggested using the National Guard to restore order in dangerous neighborhoods in major cities.
"The homeless need to go to shelters," says Trump. "They've taken over our cities."

The former president called for doctors, psychiatrists, drug-rehab specialists, and psychologists to help the homeless and suggested installing permanent bathrooms for their use. That would cut down on disease and give those with nowhere else to go a little dignity.
“Build permanent bathrooms and other facilities,” he stated. “Make ’em good, make ’em hard.”
“Build them fast,” Trump urged. “And create thousands of thousands of high-quality tents, which can be done in one day, one day. And you have to move people out. Now some people say, ‘Oh, that’s so horrible.’ No. What’s horrible is what’s happening now, because now they’re in tents but most of them are in tents that don’t even function.”
Trump: "No civilized society turns over its public spaces to be dominated by drug addicts and the homeless no matter what the reason may be yet liberals think it somehow compassionate… Squalor is not good for anybody."

Trump’s suggestion to create tent cities on the outskirts of cities probably won’t enthuse those living in the suburbs. And there would have to be security forces tasked with patrolling them to stop rampant crime from taking over as well.
Leftists are raising moral and legal questions over the relocation of the homeless, but the result would be inarguably much better for them than living on the street with no support whatsoever.
The issue is one that Trump broached while in office. In 2019, he threatened federal intervention in California if Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom did not fix the homeless problem in his state. Newsom never did and has basically ignored it as the number of people on the streets in his state has mushroomed along with drug use and crime.

The former president also reiterated past calls to impose the death penalty on drug dealers, claiming that “You execute a drug dealer, you save 500 lives.”
He went on to slam Biden for the crime wave sweeping the nation, accusing the president of having “suspended” immigration policies and fueling more gang crime.
Trump spoke of MS-13 gang members allegedly kidnapping two young girls who then “cut off their skins” to kill them. He also referred to other brutal crimes committed by gangs and railed at Biden for not addressing the issue.
“We’re a war zone,” he said, adding, “There is no longer respect for the law and there certainly is no order. Our country is now a cesspool of crime.”
