Like his fellow members of the disastrous Biden administration, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas isn’t about to stand up and take responsibility for the real life consequences of failed immigration policies and in a new low, he blamed the 53 migrants who were roasted in a semi-trailer last week for their own deaths.
The horrifying discovery of the trailer full of dead and dying illegal aliens near San Antonio which has been called “the nation’s deadliest smuggling incident” by law enforcement was a ghastly example of the human cost of Biden’s flaccid approach to immigration enforcement, made all the more tragic because the driver was high on meth but their demise was shrugged off by the callous D.C. bureaucrat.
During a Sunday morning appearance on CBS’ “Face The Nation,” Mayorkas ducked any suggestion that the regime’s abysmal failure to enforce the law had a role in the migrant deaths.
“These migrants received false information from smugglers,” Mayorkas said during his talk with host Margaret Brennan.

“They put their lives, their life savings, in the hands of these exploitative organizations, these criminal organizations that do not care for their lives and only seek to make a profit,” he said.
Mayorkas added, “These are very sophisticated transnational criminal organizations. They have evolved over the last 30 years.”
On another Sunday morning stop, this one on ABC’s “This Week” the nation’s top immigration enforcement official said that he believes that the Biden regime is doing a good job in dealing with the ongoing influx of illegals into the country.
“The migration that is occurring throughout the hemisphere is reflective of the economic downturn,” DHS Sec. Mayorkas says.

“I think that we are doing a good job,” he told host Martha Raddatz. “We need to do better. We are focused on doing more, and we are doing it with our partners to the south. This is a — this is a phenomena that not only the United States is experiencing. Colombia now has more than 2 million Venezuelans within its borders. Costa Rica has indicated that 2 percent of its population is Nicaraguan, and that might rise to 5 percent.”
The DHS boss then blamed the migrant invasion on everything but the red welcome mat that has been rolled out by the administration with its open borders policy.
“The migration that is occurring throughout the hemisphere is reflective of the economic downturn, increase in violence throughout the region, the — the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the results of climate change,” Mayorkas said, surprisingly not making the cut was Vladimir Putin, the trusty scapegoat for all that has gone wrong during the four-alarm dumpster fire of the first 18 months of Biden’s occupancy of the Oval Office.
Iconic Democrat President Harry Truman drew the admiration of millions for his willingness to own up to failures and famously displayed a sign with the words “The Buck Stops Here” on his White House desk, a concept completely lost on today’s craven, incompetent and deliberately destructive partisan hacks who would never dream of taking ownership of the problems that they have created, instead, it’s always easier to but the blame elsewhere because they know that the media will never call them on it.
