Actor and former child star Fred Savage has been summarily fired as the executive producer and director of ABC’s reboot of “The Wonder Years” following an investigation into three separate allegations of inappropriate conduct.

“Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage, and as is policy, an investigation was launched,” the producer of Wonder Years 20th Television, which is a part of Disney Television Studios, said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his employment as an executive producer and director of The Wonder Years,” the producer announced.

Savage, who is now 45-years-old, became a star at the age of 12 in 1988 when the original show aired. He was nominated for two Emmys for Best Lead Actor in a comedy series for the show.

“The Princess Bride” actor is married to Jennifer Lynn Stone, who is a commercial real estate agent, and they have three children.

The accusations of bad behavior began four years ago.

Savage’s former on-screen mother Alley Mills alleged that the original show’s cancellation followed a “completely ridiculous sexual harassment suit” that was filed against him and fellow “Wonder Years” actor Jason Hervey, which she claimed was settled out of court.

At the time, Savage was 16-years-old. A costume handler on the set named Monique Long accused him of sexual harassment. The woman leveled accusations at both Savage and Hervey for “verbally and physically harassing her,” according to Deadline.

Mills reportedly dismissed the claims and Long told Deadline in an email, “My only response to Ms. Mills’s slander is that it proves exactly why women in the industry are forced to remain silent about sexual harassment.”

Mills did an interview with Yahoo! where she referred to Savage as “the least offensive, most wonderful, sweet human being that ever walked the face of the earth.”

“So I just thought it was a big joke and it was going to blow over,” Mills remarked.

Deadline is also reporting that the allegations included “verbal outbursts and inappropriate behavior.”

In 2019, during the sitcom “The Grinder,” Savage was accused by a crew member named Youngjoo Hwang of battery, assault, harassment, and discrimination in a complaint that was filed in 2018. It was eventually settled out of court and dismissed.

Hwang worked in the wardrobe department and Savage played an attorney in the show. She claimed that in 2015 Savage verbally attacked her in front of colleagues and on one occasion “violently struck” her three times while she was brushing dandruff off his clothes.

She went on to allege that he once said to her, “It’s so f***ing annoying that I have to be nice to you when I f***ing hate you!”

“The case has been resolved and we have dismissed the lawsuit,” Hwang’s lawyer, Anahita Sedaghatfar told Page Six in an interview. “We are very pleased with the resolution.”

According to the media outlet, the case was dismissed with prejudice, and a settlement was agreed upon.

Court documents indicate that Savage allegedly abused other female crew members. He would reportedly yell at them to stop following him around. One incident involved him screaming, “Don’t f***ing look at me!”

Savage has denied any wrongdoing and has maintained his innocence during the accusations. The network backed him after he was investigated.

“I was made aware that a woman working in the costume department of a show I was on almost three years ago has claimed that I treated her harshly on set simply because she was a woman,” he noted in a statement during that time.

“These accusations are completely without merit and absolutely untrue. Fox conducted an extensive internal investigation into her claims, a process in which I fully participated,” Savage stated.

Fox would go on to release a statement asserting that after investigating the matter they found no evidence to support Hwang’s claims.

“We conducted a thorough investigation into these allegations and found no evidence of any wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Savage. We will vigorously defend against these unfounded claims,” the network proclaimed at the time.

  1. SURELY some MAN has been verbally abused by every crone in the View Coven! SPEAK UP – file those ANCIENT charges – pick out new cars and homes – settle for MILLIONS!

  2. He has a target on his back because of the first accusation. People can now say he has a history of abusive behavior. This makes me feel really sad. I hope he is vindicated.

  3. It sounds like he and Roseanne Barr should go get a beer together.

They were both screwed by the same people who used them to get ahead. Anyone on either of those reboots should hang their heads in shame for not defending the person whose coattails they are hanging on.

  4. Fred Savage fired? Dear god, what life-crushing pejorative can possibly follow this?
