Fox’s Hegseth: Putin doesn’t take self-loathing U.S. seriously, due to obsession with gender, reparations

With the nation possibly at the brink of yet another foreign war over hostilities in Eurasia between Russia, Ukraine and NATO, some are suggesting that nothing has emboldened Russian leader Vladimir Putin more than the domestic left’s obsession with imposing sweeping cultural changes on America.

While it has been stated by many that the weakness of President Joe Biden has been a major contributing factor to the rapidly deteriorating situation on the other side of the globe, Fox News’ Pete Hegseth opined that the Democrats’ cherished culture war over issues such as race, gender and reparations have been a major influence in the way that America is viewed on the world stage, especially by Moscow.

On Tuesday’s edition of “The Five“, the Fox News co-hosts engaged in a discussion of the possibility that the blood of American service members could be spilled if Biden invokes NATO’s Article 5 which states “that an attack against one Ally is considered as an attack against all Allies.” Pete Hegseth made his observation, one that is unlikely to sit well with liberal elitists who are clamoring for a steel cage death match with Putin.

In forecasting a scenario in which Putin decided to use Ukraine as a springboard for incursions into the territory of actual NATO members such as Poland and the Baltic states, co-host Jesse Waters asked, “You think Joe Biden’s gonna trigger Article 5 and send a massive amount of American soldiers into eastern Europe to defend Estonia, you think that could happen?”

“I actually think he would,” replied Hegseth. “I think an attack on one is an attack on all and I think NATO,  if there’s one thing that’s bulletproof about NATO, it’s that belief.”

“Talk is one thing,” he added, “you can talk all you want about being united but when you look at NATO and those NATO countries you can’t gut your military to pay for your welfare state and open up your borders and then believe you can muster the kind of collective will necessary to stare down a maniac who has ambitions potentially on that continent.”

After noting that the 82nd Airborne is now setting up processing centers for refugees, Hegseth dropped his bombshell.

“I don’t think that Vladimir Putin believes his adversaries are fundamentally serious right now,” he said. “He doesn’t believe the West is a serious civilization. We’re running around talking about genders, and reparations, and all of this, he sees us divided, he sees us as self-loathing, and as a result, he thinks this is his moment to make an aggressive move because we may talk about Article 5, and we should, but would the American people truly support sending our boys halfway across the world to fight against Vladimir Putin?”

“I think the elites would want us to do so, the population in America would probably see it much differently,” he added.

Hegseth could quite possibly be onto something about the perceived weakness of America under Biden’s “leadership” with a prime example being the proud display of a certain multi-colored flag at the U.S. embassy in Kabul last summer.

Less than three months later, the Taliban which was unimpressed with such virtue signaling had taken control over Afghanistan as well as the building that the flag was flying from in the greatest foreign policy debacle in decades, one that sent a loud and clear message to America’s enemies.
