‘Please do!’ Leftists raise conservative hopes with vow to boycott Walgreens over GOP donations

Citizens for Ethics wants everyone to boycott Walgreens after the drug store chain donated $25,000 “to 11 members of the Sedition Caucus.”

By that, Citizens for Ethics (aka CREW) of course means they donated to 11 Republicans who “objected to the election certification.”

“Shame on them,” admonished CREW in a tweet Thursday.

“The biggest recipients of Walgreens donations were House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Minority Whip Steve Scalise, at $5,000 each,” CREW reported.

It was, at least for CREW, a bitter betrayal of a sacred promise.

“In the first days after the insurrection,” wrote CREW, “Walgreens announced, ‘Walgreens holds in high regard the role of government and the peaceful transition of power that is core to our democracy. As such, our political action committee suspended contributions to members of Congress who voted to object [to] the certification of U.S. electoral college votes.'”

“Apparently that high regard for a peaceful transition of power did not last an entire year,” CREW stated.

Well… maybe that’s because a whole lot of Walgreens stores didn’t last an entire year under the Biden administration.

In San Francisco alone, the chain was forced to close five stores in 2021, citing “organized retail crime.”

Videos of shoplifters waltzing in, clearing shelves of their goods, and waltzing out unimpeded have gone viral in recent months, as thieves take advantage of liberal California laws that consider any stolen goods worth less than $950 not worthy of prosecution.

In an interview on Fox Business’s “Varney & Co.,”  Leo Terrell stated businesses that reported the crimes were being accused of racial profiling.

And,  as one Twitter user illustrated, Walgreens was forced to place many of their items under lock and key.

But never mind all that, Walgreens broke a promise, and for that, liberal Twitter demands a boycott.

And they won’t face any opposition from conservatives, who think keeping the Left out of Walgreens is a fantastic idea.

“I support the woke Marxists mob deciding to #BoycottWalgreens,” tweeted Marco Rubio. “Because now #walgreens won’t have to keep locking up the toothpaste and razors.”

“Libs want to #BoycottWalgreens?” asked another user. “Please do, they are tired of y’all stealing their stuff.”

While the Left beats its chest and wails about broken pledges, “exposing” Walgreens may not be having the effect they were hoping for. Rather than deter shoppers, many are saying the revelation has earned them a new loyal customer.

“Liberals are melting down since Walgreens donated to some republicans,” a user tweeted. “Now #BoycottWalgreens is trending. I will make sure I buy 10X more from this company now, and I hope others do the same.”

“I will never go to another drug store besides @Walgreens because Democrats are tweeting #BoycottWalgreens,” stated Nick Searcy.

And another tweeter declared, “I had no idea that Walgreens supported election integrity and democracy. I’ll be transferring my prescriptions to them later today.”
