Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) did an interview on The Chris Salcedo Show Wednesday and bluntly pointed out that gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D-GA) “has a real issue with obesity” and “if anyone should be wearing three or four masks, it should be Stacey Abrams.”
“They walk around without a mask, going to their fundraisers, their parties, their dinners, Super Bowl, and then they’re completely self-righteous and saying that children have to wear masks in school. It is absolutely sickening to me. And I believe it’s child abuse and I believe they should be held accountable and treated that way,” Greene stated in reference to Democrats violating their own mask mandates.
“Don’t forget, in your home state, Stacey Abrams, who is a perfect candidate to have comorbidities and vulnerabilities to the China virus, she shows up into the classroom, the kids are all masked miserably as she sitting there like a big hypocrite without a mask,” Salcedo noted alluding to a now-deleted tweet that contained a picture of Abrams maskless in a room full of masked children.
“Oh, yeah, she’s the biggest hypocrite of them all. Obesity, you know, Stacey Abrams has a real issue with obesity, and obesity is one of the top risk factors for hospitalization and death with COVID-19. If anyone should be wearing three or four masks, it should be Stacey Abrams,” Greene asserted.
Our children deserve so much better than hypocritical Democrats, with severe comorbidities, playing the #RulesForTheeGame.

“You know, this is an issue where if people are fearful or feel like they’re at risk of COVID-19, they should wear the mask. You don’t mask the healthy people, which are the kids. The kids are the least vulnerable from COVID-19 and death is such a rarity. So, yeah, Stacey Abrams is the biggest hypocrite of them all and we will do everything we can to stop her from becoming our governor,” she vowed.
Abrams received a ton of criticism from conservatives over the picture. She later apologized for breaking COVID protocols and for the bad optics of it all.
“Yes. I will say this, I went to read to kids for an African American read-in day. I approached the podium with my mask on. I followed the protocols. I told the kids I’m taking my mask off because I’m reading to kids who are listening remotely as well, and we were socially distanced, the kids were socially distanced from me,” she told CNN host Erin Burnett.
“I told them that’s what I was doing. And in the excitement after I finished because it was so much fun working with those kids, I took a picture. And that was a mistake,” she added.
“Protocols matter, and protecting our kids is the most important thing and anything that can be perceived as undermining that is a mistake and I apologize,” Abrams disingenuously concluded.

Greene is a staunch opponent when it comes to masking children. She is not bashful about it and has repeatedly called it child abuse.

Abrams is in the lead to win the Democratic nomination in Georgia to run for governor after previously losing her bid for the seat in 2018 to Republican Brian Kemp.
