Fox News contributor Leo Terrell laid into New York City Mayor Eric Adams on “Hannity” Wednesday following recent statements made by Adams in which he blamed skin color for the fault-finding coverage he has received in the press over his job performance.

As BPR reported Wednesday, Adams slammed the New York media for what he perceives as a lack of diversity when they dared to report that his recent trip to the capital of Albany failed to get lawmakers to budge on his supposed anti-crime agenda.

The mayor repeatedly called race to the forefront of his remarks which were unironically directed to a nearly all-white team of reporters hand-picked by his own office.

“I’m a black man that’s the mayor but my story is being interpreted by people that don’t look like me,” he said.

“How many blacks are on editorial boards? How many blacks determine how these stories are being written?” he continued. “How many Asians? How many East Asians? How many South Asians? Everyone talks about my government being diversified, what’s the diversification in the newsrooms?”

Leo Terrell wasn’t having any of it.

“He’s only a little over a month into this job, he’s like six weeks in,” host Sean Hannity said while addressing Terrell. “If he is that angry at the press now, wait until he is two years in, because it usually only gets tougher for New York mayors.”

“I want to be very clear, I hope Adams is watching,” Terrell said.

“He’s a failure. He talks a good game, but he has done nothing. If he was really serious, he would start working with Republicans, conservatives, and Democrats, and primary those Democrats who are soft on crime,” he added.

“He refused to call out Democrats by their first and last name because he puts party first over the city of New York and the citizens. He plays the race card, and whenever Democrats play the race card, they are failing. He’s failing at his job,” Terrell continued.

“He is a black mayor, he has a black police chief, he has a black district attorney,” Terrell added. “Where is the racism?”

He concluded, “Reporters, keep reporting on his failures. Because he is a complete failure.”

Terrell urged all Americans to take a good look at cities like New York and Chicago, which are minority-run and consumed by rampant crime, and which Terrell says have leaders who play the race card more than anyone else in the country.

“When they are failing, they play the race card,” he reiterated.

Former NYC mayoral candidate and founder and CEO of the Guardian Angels, Curtis Sliwa, was also on hand to tear into Adams and his bold assertion that as the second black mayor in NYC’s history, he is somehow a victim of racism.

“It’s all about race with him. It’s always been that way. He was a supporter of Farrakhan in the ’90s!” Sliwa observed.

He said that Adams will continue to get “wined and dined and pocket-lined,” and he urged the mayor to “come back the streets; come into the subways with Curtis Sliwa. I’ll show you how to fight crime and save New York City. Even if they didn’t elect me, I know the way because I’ve done it before for 43 years!”
