Democrats have elevated the hoax to something of an art form; albeit, an imperfect one. In recent years hoaxes have become something of a crutch for the left; a desperate tool Democrats depend upon to keep their false narratives alive.
There was the Jussie Smollett Hoax, which aimed to promote the “MAGA supporters are racist, white supremacists” narrative. Jussie, of course, paid two black Nigerians to rough him up outside his Chicago apartment in his fictional enactment of a MAGA hate crime.
That narrative melted down faster than Alexandria Ocasio Cortez after getting spotted vacationing with her boyfriend on her maskless Miami vacation.
Jussie’s humiliating effort didn’t deter the left from trying again. When one hoax ends, another begins. During the 2020 gubernatorial race in Virginia, the Lincoln Project staged a group of tiki torch wielding white supremacists outside Glen Youngkin’s campaign rally. Not only were all the white supremacists-for-hire Democrats, but one was a black white supremacist.
Democrat hoaxes have become so common in America that any event, which conveniently fits a Democrat narrative is suspect. The latest alleged threat against Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell is no different. It practically screams hoax.
Swalwell’s narrative, whether true or not, promotes a different Democrat narrative; that of “the radical, radicalized, conspiracy-believing right winger.”
Swalwell recently tweeted images of a direct message conversation he had with a Canadian man named Jeremy Marshall, who lives in Vancouver. The exchange happened on Instagram, even though Swalwell mistakenly claimed it happened on Twitter. Suspicious already.
Anyway, the Canadian writes, “Traitor hopefully u get hung one day” and “Traitor u should be shot.” Apparently, things are going so well in Canada under Trudeau that right winger Jeremy’s primary object of disdain is an inconsequential American Congressman from California.
Of all the issues to drive a Canadian mad, Jeremy is incensed by a year-old report that an American Congressman — Swalwell — was involved with a known Chinese spy.
Jeremy’s hatred for Swalwell is so intense that after Swalwell writes, “I love Canada,” Jeremy is immediately disarmed. “Ur a lot more personable than u come across,” Jeremy replies.
I mean that’s totally believable, isn’t it? What self professed “right leaning”American wouldn’t immediately reconsider their disdain for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after seeing that picture of her vacationing in Miami, Florida? AOC is practically screaming, “I love Florida.”
But Jeremy is a Canadian and Canadians are notoriously polite, eh? So let’s accept that those three words — “I love Canada” — are Jeremy’s Achilles heel.
Maybe Swalwell picked up that highly effective disarming technique from Fang Fang, the Chinese spy he banged. Who knows? Maybe all it took for Swalwell to drop his guard was Fang Fang whispering “I love California,” in the aloof California rep’s ear.
The overall exchange between Jeremy and Swalwell paints a very convenient picture: a flattering image of Swalwell, who kills with kindness, and an embarrassed right winger, who learns what a “standup guy” Swalwell really is. It’s almost like Swalwell planned to share the conversation.
Swalwell did, of course, and in doing so proved he’s just the opposite of a “stand up guy,” by doxxing his new Canadian admirer.
The substance of the exchange is more suspicious, still. Swalwell asks what “news sites” Jeremy follows and what “politicians” he listens to that made Jeremy “so angry with [Swalwell].” Jeremy’s response is…revealing.
Jeremy says Joe Rogan is the most influential. Rogan, of course, has made himself a target of the left, by spreading “dangerous misinformation” about effective COVID treatments that he himself has benefitted from.
Rogan also embarrassed CNN analyst Sanjay Gupta on his podcast, and exposed the network as the lying propagandists that they are.
More recently Rogan interviewed Dr. Robert Malone, giving a platform to the doctor that twitter banned for “spreading anti-vaxx information.” Even though Malone is credited with inventing the mRNA technology that paved the way for the COVID shots.
It’s also hard to understand what role Joe Rogan could have had in stoking Vancouver Jeremy’s hatred of Swalwell, of all people. But fine. Who else “radicalized” Vancouver Jeremy?
Tucker Carlson, of course. Swalwell tweeted, “Meet Jeremy Marshall who told me he was radicalized by Tucker Carlson.” But Vancouver Jeremy did not say that. In fact, Jeremy describes how he doesn’t watch Tucker Carlson, writing “Tucker Carlson slammed u too much and lost me…he can’t be believed anymore.”
Isn’t it suspicious that Jeremy singles out Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson, two of the biggest anti-propagandists in America? Two rockstars the left would really like to discredit and silence?
Neither Rogan nor Carlson are “news sites” or “politicians,” by the way.
But if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. This quacks like another hoax.
But Swalwell isn’t capable of such a thing, is he? He’s honest. He proved that when he claimed there was evidence that Trump was “working on behalf of the Russians.”
Eric Swalwell may have just pulled a Jussie Smollett. But don’t expect the leftist media to look into it. If the narrative fits, the propagandists commit. Their journalistic standards demand they report first and ask questions never.
True or not, Jeremy Marshall is still a Canadian. Who cares.
