Bowser’s ‘discriminatory vaccine mandates’ will hit DC’s black residents hardest, data shows

Mayor Muriel Bowser’s new COVID mandate in Washington, DC is set to go into effect on Jan. 15 and according to vaccination data it will disproportionately impact black residents in the city because only 39 percent of them are fully vaccinated.

Bowser made the announcement on Wednesday at a press conference in response to the spread of the Omicron variant. She then tweeted it out, making D.C. the latest progressive city to reimpose mandates.

According to D.C.’s most recent data, the vaccination rate for black residents is 46.4 percent. Only 39.4 percent are fully vaccinated currently.

“Democrats like Mayor Bowser and President Biden should be ashamed of themselves and their clearly discriminatory vaccine mandates that disproportionately penalize hardworking black Americans who have the freedom to decide what is best for themselves and their families for personal, religious or medical reasons,” Republican National Committee spokesman and director of black media affairs Paris Dennard remarked to Fox News Digital.

Bowser’s mandate will require residents to provide proof of vaccination in order to enter restaurants, bars, nightclubs, indoor entertainment facilities, gyms, and indoor meeting establishments.

“If you are a resident that is not yet vaccinated and you want to continue enjoying these activities, now is the time to get vaccinated,” Bowser thuggishly ordered.

Students in D.C. schools will also have to be immunized beginning March 1, following regulations issued by the D.C. Council, according to ABC News.

Some establishments such as grocery stores, museums, and places of worship are exempt from the mandate. Officials also note that the mayor’s order is not an employer mandate, but a vaccine requirement for those visiting their establishments.

Bowser encouraged residents to celebrate safe holidays and asked people to have small gatherings, wear masks and gather outdoors.

Her edict states that people who are 12 years old and older are required to have at least one dose of the vaccine by Jan. 15 and two doses by Feb. 15. Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City all have similar policies now in place. All are solidly blue strongholds.

The mandate ticked off business owners who are warning of severe economic consequences following the implementation of the mandate.

Bowser appears to many to be far more concerned with strongarming a COVID mandate on residents than addressing skyrocketing violent crime in D.C.

Ticked-off DC residents are demanding to know when the mandates will end and they are bristling at enforced vaccine passports.

A number of outraged residents announced their intentions to move out of the federal district on social media, with the most popular destinations being Texas and Florida.

Bowser is being accused of being a hypocrite because she has been caught breaking her own COVID mandates. In August, she was photographed at a wedding without a mask. During that time period, the mayor had issued an order that required everyone over 2 years old regardless of vaccination status to wear a mask indoors.

Bowser was also seen in photos celebrating her birthday without a mask alongside comedian Dave Chapelle hours before her mandate was enacted.
