White House press secretary Jen Psaki slammed Republican lawmakers and Fox News hosts over the “disappointing and not surprising” reports about text messages they sent on January 6.
Psaki leveled her condemnation during a press briefing Tuesday when she was asked about reported text messages that were sent to then-chief of staff Mark Meadows amid the unfolding riot at the Capitol on January 6.
“It’s disappointing and unfortunately not surprising that some of the very same individuals who were willing to warn, condemn, and express horror over what happened on Jan. 6 in private were totally silent in public, or even worse, were spreading lies and conspiracy theories and continued to since that time,” Psaki told reporters.
“Unfortunately, we’ve seen a trend from the same individuals,” she added.

Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Brian Kilmeade were among those who, it was revealed, had texted Meadows during January 6, urging him to get the president to act and help defuse the escalating situation. The text messages were provided to the select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack by the former Trump chief of staff.
Psaki also appeared to confirm that the Biden administration has no plans to move past the Capitol riot which they continue to refer to as an “insurrection.”
Asked about the coming one-year anniversary of the event, the press secretary affirmed that “there’s no question you’ll see us commemorate that day.”

The very idea set off a wave of mockery on social media.
To democrats, Jan 6th was worse than 9/11. Worse than the Civil War some have said.

Great. They can hang a wreath on a phallic monument to remember what never happened.

I wonder how they will commemorate the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and the death of 13 American service members.

“Dedicated to the thousands who may very well have died if so many selfies hadn’t distracted the insurrectionists. May the memories of what could have been live forever in the minds of news media everywhere.” https://t.co/CJgxx9mnSE
