PETA finally has a good take: Dr. Fauci needs to resign

Calls for Dr. Anthony S. Fauci to resign have been joined by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) which has responded strongly following a report of heinous animal experiments that were funded by the longtime head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The organization which often seems to engage in choosing to partake in silliness such as demanding that Major League Baseball eliminate the use of the word “bullpen” and bullying Nabisco into changing the packaging on their popular animal crackers, proves the saying that “even a broken clock is right twice a day” with support of Fauci’s removal from the top of America’s health bureaucracy.

Fauci, who is the Biden administration’s public face of the COVID response, saw his impeccably crafted image as a kindly doctor take a major hit after a report detailing the cruel and inhumane research conducted on beagle puppies drew media attention.

PETA reacted strongly over the report by the nonprofit White Coat Waste Project detailing the horrific and sadistic experimentations on the doomed dogs who were effectively tortured to death.

“Our position is clear. ALL those in leadership at NIH, including Fauci, should resign,” the organization tweeted on Friday.

The call for Fauci to step down was accompanied by a retweet of a Newsmax interview with PETA Senior VP Kathy Guillermo in which she called for new leadership at NIH along with the hashtag #FauciLiedDogsDied.

The White Coat Waste Project’s expose of the experiments that Fauci funded with American taxpayer dollars is not for the squeamish.

“Fauci’s NIH division shipped part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia (where the NIH has no oversight and there are no laws protecting animals used in experiments!) to drug beagles and lock their heads in mesh cages filled with hundreds of infected sand flies.” The group reported.

Not only were the poor dogs immobilized but “the experimenters starved the flies so they’re hungry and “the sand flies were then allowed to feed on the sedated dogs….” the group reported.

The depraved “researchers” also severed the animals’ vocal cords so that they could perform their twisted work without having to be bothered by the dogs crying and whimpering in pain.

Some may be inclined to suggest that such barbaric experiments could be expected from the likes of Dr. Josef Mengele but not from the top medical expert in the United States Of America.

Fauci’s funding of the research sparked outrage, leading to a rare bipartisan rebuke with a letter sent to the career bureaucrat by South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace and 23 of her colleagues.

Republican Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rand Paul (R-KY), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Mike Braun (R-IN), and Susan Collins (R-ME) also sent a letter to Fauci last week.

“We write to express deep concern about recent reports of inhumane experiments on beagle puppies conducted by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at a cost to taxpayers of $1.68 million,” the letter states.

The lawmakers also wrote:

“One article reported that in addition to “force-feeding or injecting 44 beagle puppies aged 6-8 months old with an experimental drug before killing and dissecting them,” the research also “involved cutting the dogs’ vocal cords so they could not bark.” As you are surely aware, the leading U.S. veterinary organizations such as the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association “oppose non-therapeutic devocalization of dogs except…as a final alternative to relinquishment or euthanasia.”

PETA is also urging U.S. residents to “please help us flood Biden’s inbox with messages urging him to appoint a director who’s committed to bringing the agency into the 21st century by investing in cutting-edge, animal-free research methods.” A link to an email blast form is featured on the group’s website.

America’s top pitchman for mandatory masks and endless jabs has drawn much criticism for his constant flip-flopping and his agency’s role of funding dangerous “gain of function” research at the Chinese lab where the virus may have escaped from and now, puppy torture.

Regardless of the negative public relations hit, it’s probably safe to say that Fauci isn’t going to be resigning, he clearly enjoys his newfound superstardom.

Editor’s Note: The following statement was presented after this post was published from https://journals.plos.org/ — The US National Institutes of Health and the Wellcome Trust did not provide any funding for this research and any such claim was made in error.
