A California camera operator for CNN, ABC, NBC, and a number of other MSM outlets has been arrested for threatening to kill Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and his family over the phone earlier this year.

According to prosecutors, on Jan. 9, just three days after the Capitol riot, cameraman Eugene Huelsman called Gaetz’s office phone to threaten his life well as the lives of his family members.

“Tell [M.G.] to watch his back, tell him to watch his children … I’m coming for him, he’s gonna f***ing die … I’m gonna f***ing kill him … Watch your back, I’m coming for you. I’m gonna put a bullet in you and I’m gonna put a bullet in one of your f***ing kids too,” Huelsman allegedly said in a profanity-laced threatening voicemail according to an indictment.

Gaetz confirmed that he was the victim identified as M.G. in the indictment. He told Fox News in an interview that he turned over the voicemail to the Capitol Police.

Huelsman, who is from Thousand Oaks, was indicted on one felony count of making a threat to injure the person of another in May in the Northern District of Florida. At the time, his whereabouts were unknown. The indictment was sealed by a judge until authorities could catch up with him in California and take him into custody. He was arrested in the Los Angeles vicinity last week according to Politico.

At a court hearing in Los Angeles last Friday, Huelsman was released by a federal judge on a $20,000 bond the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

He is scheduled to appear in a Pensacola federal court on Friday.

Huelsman has worked for decades as a camera operator on film and television productions, winning five Emmy nominations for his work on NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.”

“I’m glad that prosecutors in the Northern District of Florida take death threats against me and my family seriously,” Gaetz stated. “I wish that were an ethic across the DOJ enterprise.”

“An indictment was issued in May, and has now been unsealed the week after my criticism,” Gaetz said to Politico. “If they took our security seriously, they would arrest all of the people who violate federal law and the threats to kill us, not just some of them … I think that the Department of Justice is biased against Republicans.”

Gaetz gave a stunning speech on the House floor recently that he had received another death threat from a hitman via Twitter. He claimed the Department of Justice was refusing to investigate it.

“I thank the gentleman for yielding because I think someone may be trying to kill me. If they are successful, I would like my constituents and my family to know who stopped their arrest,” Gaetz bluntly asserted.

The Republican congressman went on to say that the individual who threatened him on Twitter traveled to Washington D.C. and that the Justice Department declined to arrest him despite the Capitol Police recommending the man be arrested.

People are shocked at the threats against Gaetz:
