‘Fox & Friends’ corrects Biden for spouting ‘misinformation’ about network’s vaccine mandate, again

The “Fox & Friends” morning crew called President Joe Biden out for repeating “misinformation” about the network having a vaccine mandate in place.

The president participated in a town hall Thursday night on Biden-friendly CNN and made it a point to speak out against what he referred to as “gross misinformation” when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Two things that concern me, one are those who just try to make this a political issue. Freedom. I have the freedom to kill you with my COVID. No, come on, freedom? Number one. Number two, the second one is that, you know, the gross misinformation that’s out there,” Biden said.

He was clear that he supports vaccine mandates for first responders, even if it means they are let go, and cited the death of Colin Powell to repeat that there’s “so much misinformation” spread by anti-vaxxers, noting that the former secretary of state had serious underlying conditions — Powell’s family released a statement saying he was fully vaccinated and that he died “due to complications from Covid 19.” The release did not reference any other health issues, even though the general had multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that weakened his immune system, and suffered from Parkinson’s disease.

“But my generic point is there’s so much misinformation. You know what I find fascinating? I turn on Fox to find out how popular I am, but —” Biden said.

“How are you doing there?” asked host Anderson Cooper.

“I’m doing very well. I think I’m at 3% favorable,” Biden quipped, before saying, “But all kidding aside, one of the things I find, do you realize they mandate vaccinations?”

“At Fox headquarters?” Cooper asked, feigning ignorance, prompting the president to reply, “Yeah. I find that mildly fascinating.”

Except that is a mischaracterization of the truth and co-host Brian Kilmeade pointed out the “misinformation he said about Fox.”

“He thought, ‘I think it’s funny that Fox has a vaccine mandate.’ You have a testing option at Fox, So what he said is totally inaccurate,” Kilmeade said, of Biden.

“We don’t have a mandated, we have a protocol,” co-host Steve Doocy interjected.

“That’s a little different,” Kilmeade replied. “Someone should tell the president. That’s misinformation.”

“Why don’t they do that in all of these government positions,” co-host Ainsley Earhardt offered. “Why don’t they say, ‘We don’t want you to lose your job. We don’t want your kids to have to worry about getting food on the table.’ Why don’t they say ‘let’s test you every day’ and a lot of people would do that.”

Doocy chimed in to say that is what Fox News does.

Biden’s claim that Fox News has a vaccine mandate was very publicly denounced last week by network host Tucker Carlson.

“To be clear, we just have a show on this channel, that’s it, we don’t run the company and we would never presume to speak for the company, but as a factual matter, what Joe Biden just said is completely untrue,” Carlson countered. “It is a lie, period. We can say that with authority since we work here. Every day, literally alone among big media outlets, Fox News defends this country’s most basic civil liberties, what we used to refer to as the Bill of Rights.”
