Left-wing activists, who only days ago were making light of the ongoing harassment being faced by Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, are now up in arms over an allegedly “dangerous” mean tweet directed at the press.
The tweet was posted Wednesday by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ press secretary, Christina Pushaw, and reads as follows: “Fun fact: ‘AP” stands for ‘Activist Progressives.'”
It was posted presumably in response to the Associated Press’s publication of a dubious “fact-check” claiming that the National School Boards Association “didn’t ask President Joe Biden to label protesting parents ‘domestic terrorists.'”

In response to this simple, mocking tweet, left-wing activist Andrew Dolberg cried foul.
“This is straight up dangerous from @GovRonDeSantis’s press secretary. We can’t undermine objective reporting,” he tweeted.
His LinkedIn profile shows that he works as director of strategic initiatives at MDW Communications, a left-wing activist firm “specializing in digital and direct mail for progressive campaigns and causes throughout the United States.”

The hyperbolic tweet left many, including Pushaw, extraordinarily confused.

How is the AP objective? Their “fact checks” are DNC propaganda
— Christina Pushaw (@ChristinaPushaw) October 7, 2021
A. Not even mildly dangerous
B. Not even mildly objective reporting https://t.co/Q57PUwAw9Z— Jim Hanson (@JimHansonDC) October 7, 2021
Did @MerriamWebster change the definition of “objective reporting” too? https://t.co/gStsxWY8Et
— Cancer Slayer (@MichaelRCaputo) October 7, 2021
What about it was objective? The part where they made stuff up then made up more stuff to defend the stuff they made up earlier?

You do know people understand that 90% of media is to promote progressive policy? Here in LA, the LA Times called Elder the black face of white supremacy.

All through the pandemic, scammy “fact-checkers” fanned the flames of ineffectual Covid responses despite no efficacy evidence and clear societal harms. AP has itself run hit pieces on DeSantis and refused to retract articles clearly shown to be misleading. Lots of danger THERE

The latter Twitter user was correct in his observation that the AP has repeatedly run fraudulent “fact-checks” on Pushaw’s boss, Gov. DeSantis.
Dolberg responded to the backlash and continues to respond to it by posting pouty tweets trashing DeSantis and complaining about Pushaw siccing “trolls” on him.
Look:
I won the @ChristinaPushaw lottery tonight!
Called her out for attacking the media, so she sent her trolls after me.
Exactly what @GovRonDeSantis’s spokesperson should be doing with her time.
— Andrew Dolberg (@asdolberg) October 7, 2021
It makes sense now how Florida missed out on more than $2 billion in school funding.
Maybe because @GovRonDeSantis staff spends more time trolling than doing the ACTUAL WORK OF THE GOVERNMENT. https://t.co/KicBFJImgW
— Andrew Dolberg (@asdolberg) October 7, 2021
Given how many of @ChristinaPushaw‘s followers have attacked me, she clearly has some influence.
I just wish she would use that influence to tweet “Vaccines are safe and will keep Floridians from dying. Please go get vaccinated!”
As @GovRonDeSantis‘s press sec, that’s her duty.
— Andrew Dolberg (@asdolberg) October 7, 2021
Woke up to find that @ChristinaPushaw had RTed me again!
If she were as dedicated to her job as she is to Twitter trolling, maybe @GovRonDeSantis approval wouldn’t be so deep underwater.
A Governor that only cares about himself found a perfect match.

A couple of hours before the feud began Wednesday, the AP posted a “fact-check” of a tweet by critical race theory expert Christopher Rufo regarding the Justice Department’s move to stifle dissenting parents.
Look:
Contrary to false claims circulating online, the National School Boards Association didn’t ask President Joe Biden to label protesting parents “domestic terrorists,” and there’s no indication Biden or the Justice Department called them terrorists, either. https://t.co/kVflaQKHme
— AP Fact Check (@APFactCheck) October 6, 2021
As noted by Rufo in the response posted below, the “fact-check” is dubious at best:
The AP claims that my report about the NSBA is “misinformation.”
But their “fact check” is easily debunked by the NSBA letter itself, which asks the administration to classify parent protests as “a form of domestic terrorism” and recommends prosecution under the “PATRIOT Act.” pic.twitter.com/W4kg71BQcB

Given the timing, it’s believed that Pushaw’s original tweet was posted in response specifically to the AP’s “fact-check.”
In additional tweets, she later revealed that the folks at the AP were themselves so disturbed by her mild criticism that they direct messaged her a link to the media organization’s “About” page.
Look:
😂 I can’t… an actual AP reporter just emailed this to me. Speechless. pic.twitter.com/KFQfTfr0gU
— Christina Pushaw (@ChristinaPushaw) October 6, 2021
This prompted her to double down on her original criticism:
FACT CHECK: “AP” actually stands for “Archaic Profession.”
Thank you @boltsfan850 for educating me on this nuance.
— Christina Pushaw (@ChristinaPushaw) October 6, 2021
Like other establishment media outlets, the AP has a history of publishing dubious “fact-checks” that read more like Democrat Party propaganda.
The back-and-forth exchange Wednesday came as left-wing activists and even some left-wing media personalities continue to downplay the harassment of Democrat Sen. Sinema, who’s currently been deemed a “traitor” for refusing to abide by the party’s demands.
Chasing anybody -public or private- into a bathroom, to me is beyond the pail.
Maybe if @kyrstensinema spent less time in fundraisers with corporate donors and held town-halls to listen to constituents and answer their questions, they wouldn’t chase her into the damn 🚽. https://t.co/ICsloYkt1l
